Anyone Think That Chris/Stuart Stiched Alex Up To An Extent?
I got the impression that Chris was stiching Alex up, that he knew the name Germinator, was a rubbish cheesy name and wouldn't work and let Alex go with it, knowing he would probably go because of his previous close calls in the boardroom.
Sugar may have liked the name Germinator but that doesn't mean it was a good name, Blitz was much better, and it doesn't detract from what I think Chris was doing. If you look at the look(s) on his face, when he suggested it, it was as if he was saying "are you really stupid enough to take this suggestion on board"? I also got the feeling that he realised it was a bad name as he kind of admtted it later when he said he was expecting more names to be thrown into the mix before making a decison. Alex should have gone for the name Blitz when he had further doubts, thats when Laura should have reminded them of Blitz. What happened to Stuart as well wanting to be PM at first but then it cut to him agreeing that Alex should be PM instead? The words hung himself coms to mind but with some help from Chris and Stuart. |

Blitz sounded good. Alex was PM. So why didn't he go with it? Alex needed no help to make a b@lls-up.

Blitz was suggested by Laura to Alex himself but he shut her down. No Chris and Stuart there at that time to "stitch him up" or bully him into submission. His fault entirely that they went with Germinator.

No, I don't think there was a plan to stich him up.

Was entirely his fault, he had the insight to dismiss it initially so why did he cave and go with it.

No the fact was they struggled with a name for the product and didnt have to do what the other team done and steal the idea from a mother.
I quite like the name germamator, and thought it was better then the other team |

It wasn't Chris or Stuart that came up with the name Blitz, I'm on about suggestion of Germinator in the first place and Stuart saying he wanted to be PM, then a split second cut was done to Alex, saying he wanted it and Staurt didn't contest it.
Stuart could have been bluffing in wanting to be PM but he will have to do it soon as he hasn't been PM yet has he? |

Germination is a biological process.
I don't understand why someone didn't say it was confusing. They got carried away with their 'cleverness'. Chris loved himself as Spielberg and Stu did a cracking job at the voices. But Alex should have put the tin lid on the whole thing. Rubbish name. Rubbish packaging. Rubbish at conveying what the product DID. |

Both Alex and Stuart were keen on being PM but Alex got more backing on account of his background. He could have - and with hindsight should have - let Stuart do it, but I think after last week's boardroom he (understandably) felt pressure to prove himself and impress LA...to his cost. No conspiracy I'm afraid. And the annoying Laura only came up with 'Blitz' much later didn't she? Why wasn't her brain in gear whilst they were brainstorming? |

No. It was a bad idea but no one could articulate why it was bad and Chris genuinely believed it was great hence him saying from the outset he would carry the can.

You cant really blame her for that, ideas just come to you, its like when you do a essay, much later after you have done it you think to yourself, "Damn I should of wrote that". Same think, Blitz was a good idea, but Laura didnt fight for it, and Alex just shot it down before she even created it. |

No stitching up....
With a sense of humour like that.....thinking up a Germanator commercial, thinking it funny and laughing everytime it is shown... I don't think he's nasty or creative enough to stitch someone up. |

As far as Laura suggesting "Blitz" goes, it's worth noting that on You're Fired Alex said that she was very good and came up with loads of good names, but that they found they'd all been copyrighted. Blitz could be the same.

Alex seemed determined to overrule everything Laura suggested. The worse thing was that he said using the kid would be on his head, but in the boardroom he virtually denied being told it should be kept away from children, |

I don't see how Stuart could have stitched Alex up. The only thing I saw Baggs doing that task, other than offering to be PM, was the silly voiceovers. I suppose you could fault him for not contributing to the creative process, though. I don't see him lasting beyond Week 10 personally.
And Chris B - although I'm no fan of his and I wouldn't put it past him to stitch somebody up, with reflection that doesn't seem to be the case. It seems he genuinely did get cocky, and like a lot of previous candidates in ad tasks, got over-creative and carried away with directing the advert. The result was that it missed the point and sent the wrong messages. Still an arrogant prat, in my opinion, but not guilty of any foul play here. |
