I thought all the food came out of the microwave or the deep fat fryer, How can they make a christmas dinner?

Deep fried turkey and stuffing balls?

Have you actually tried it, or are you just a sheep that believes everything you read?

It's vastly improved in recent times (although I appreciate there can be variance from pub to pub, like any chain).

Why not give it a try?

So I'm guessing that by the use of the sarcastic 'roll eyes' smiley at the end of you saying it 'doesn't conjure up nice images' you really mean that it does the opposite and in fact it does conjure up nice images of pub grub. You see, you're being sarcastic about your negative comment, thus making it a positive comment.

Or are you, in fact, one of those posters that for some strange reason just can't resist adding the 'roll eyes' to their posts without first thinking it through?

i think it's more a statement on food taste.....a main meal for less than a fiver prepared by under trained and under payed staff who's main worry is how long they nuke the frozen, barely edible quality, food for. if it's all you can afford i don't begrudge it but don't kid yourself its quality..and i don't mean you personally.

Show me a pub chain that doesn't mainly serve food cooked from frozen. Wetherspoons is good value and usually they haven't ripped out the insides of their pubs so it is generally convivial. lLving in an area dominated by gastro-pubs, this is very welcome.

Wetherspoon's serve some decent real ale and bitters, I ate at Wetherspoons once and whilst waiting for my food someone charged over to the counter and demanded a refund of his £5.00 meal due to it being of the same quality of an Iceland £1 meal. It ended with him chucking the meal over the counter uttering the words, 'microwave this arsehole'.

I can't remember the food at all much as I search the recesses of my memory which is comment enough in my view
