THANK YOU!!!!!
This has cheered me up no end!
If you haven't seen it already, watch it!

Great thread, OP.
Nothing tops this showdance to me, for its sheer excruciating constipated angst, to say nothing of the hauling about. But muppetgate is a close second.

Every single Craig Kelly dance. I mean, I know the bad dancers can come up with some pretty terrible performances but the fact that week after week he refused to see how rubbish he was and kept dancing with the belief he was amazing meant that each dance was cringey. However, Lisa's showdance is the only dance where I've sat blankly looking at the screen, jaw dropped, repeating "what are they doing, what ARE they doing?" over and over again and so this one wins.

This would be my answer, also. He has to be the most deluded contestant in any competition EVER. And having to listen to him bang on and on and on about how much he wanted to get to Blackpool was so annoying it almost single-handledly ruined that series for me. I was so happy when he got voted off, though he shouldn't have made it as far as Blackpool. Bloody local pride.

The whole thing with Craig was simply dreadful. He was so irritating and smug I can't believe people actually kept him in for as long as they did, local pride or not.

Matt Dawson, bum wiggle followed by 'Hello Ducky' look, I'm still in therapy, and they showed it day, after day, after day on ITT

Oh, yes AK.

The words Matt ... Salsa ... Shimmy still has the power to send me bolting behind the settee.

ITT were evil

Noooooooooooo! I'd blocked that completely and now it's in my head again!

I loved Lisa and Brendan but their showdance was just......something.....well it was something!

I'd agree anything Fiona, Craig and Gary Rhodes ever did!

Lisa & Brendan showdance. I've never been so embarrassed during a dance on SCD

Lisa & Brendan's Showdance. Way worse than any of the several massively cringeworthy dances seen on SCD.

The 'Showdance'

It was almost surreal in how bad it was.

Well and truly awful... but pure comedy gold.

Sorry not to choose anything different but it has to be Brendan and Lisa's showdance for me too.

The look on Lisa's face - she's trying so hard to be emotional and poignant but she looks as though she really, really needs to go to the loo. For a long visit. With a book.

Darren Gough's caterpillar move was pretty awful. Was that his cha cha cha?

Other than that, then yes Colin and Erin's showdance and Lisa and Brendan's showdance (and I loved Lisa and Brendan).

I didn't really go for John Sergent dragging Kristina round the floor much either!

Kate and Anton's cringey samba when she was crawling round the floor flashing her pants was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. As was Gary Rhodes' cha-cha with Karen and the weird chopping thing he did over her back

I'm racking my brains for stuff other people haven't mentioned and can only come up with some of Georgina's earliest stuff with the then-new boy James. That was cringey because he was so outraged and she was so clumsy.

Perhaps cringiest of all is that I rewatched Lisa's Bacofoil shame the other day and didn't think parts of it were that bad.

Agree about L&B's showdance, but even worse for me is NotDead's shuffle at the beginning of every show - I have to look away
Ballroom-B.
12-11-2010
David Dickinson's jazz hands cha-cha cha in series one.
Quentin Wilson's dreadful cha cha cha
but yes Lisa and Brendan's showdance has to come right at the top of routines that just make you say NOOOO!

Brendan and Sarah's paso ... I think it was the VT around it about Brendan's input in the costume which didn't help but it was just <shudder>

Nothing can top Lisa and Brendan. I was p*ssed watching that final, but experienced a brief, sober, "WTF?" moment. It would have been OK(ish) except for the fact it was a blatant rip-off of teh demo the previous week.

Matt D-A forgetting his steps was pretty embarrassing, just as watching an actor forgetting his lines is.

Laila and Anton's pink-shirted Latin horror last year was car-crash TV as well. She fluffed a step and spent the remaining 75 seconds like a rabbit caught in car headlights. Even Anton was reduced to "It might be funny for you, but it's a job for me".

Bad dancers dancing badly is just part of the show, so not particularly cringeworthy, unless they think they're good. Rhodes gave it a go, knew he was cr*p and took the humiliation pretty well.

I've never seen Colin and Erins show dance. I didn't watch series 3 at all, I don't even know what music it was to. I once thought i'd watch it on YT but with my eyes shut so I could just hear it just to get a flavour but couldn't bring myself to even do that.
I dread the showdances, they're never as good as anticipated, I agree Lisas was the worst.
I remember running from the room screaming when poor Matt forgot his steps to the foxtrot in series 5 and just sat on the stairs - that was a bad moment

It's a wise move, remember so clearly sitting there with my jaw dropped unable to believe Erin had made such a huge mistake. Avoided Lisa's for over a year (had flounced off after Austin's elimination), and wish I'd kept it that way, what's been seen can not be unseen

The thing is for Erin i could kinda see what she was going for ... showcasing Colin being good enough to dance on his own. Totally missed the target, mind - but the thought was there!

With Lisa and Brendan I still don't know how Brendan could have looked at a muscle man mountain chucking a teeny slip of a female about and though - 'oh, yeah, we'll have some of that, it'll look so good'
