Which couples relationships are the most genuine?
milmol

All couples when they appear on ITT come across as "oh we're getting along famously - we adore each other..."

Who are the most genuine?

For me Patsy & Robin - although they are probably the most extreme examples - I actually really do buy into their relationship.

The one I'm not sure about is Scott & Natalie although I can't put my finger on what it is about them makes me think that, just a little forced somehow

I agree with you on Patsy and Robin, they do seem to have fun in the training room. Kara and Artem are supposed to be getting along very well....

I can't figure out James and Pamela - nothing agaisnt either of them at all, it just seems a bit odd to me....

Apparently Jimi and Flavia are continuing with some training even though they are no longer in the competition, so I guess they get on well.

Anton and Ann seem to get on well, though Anton is quite old-fashioned about manners and i don't think you'd know if he didn't like someone.

I think Matt and Aliona's relationship is genuine. They're not afraid to argue if they feel like it and in general seem to have a great connection. Same goes for Gavin and Katya.

A lot of the couples this year seem to be forcing this "we get on SO well and laugh SO much!!!!" thing and it's a little cringey at times.

I didn't know that, but perhaps Flavia is helping Jimi to practise now that he has been confirmed for the celeb tour

Patsy & Robin seem to get along fabulously.

Kara & Artem also seem to have a very genuine and strong relationship to me. You've got the chemistry and it seems pretty obvious now something's going on between them, but it's more than that. They dance very naturally together, put in moves that require a lot of trust and I think it speaks volumes that they are comfortable to argue whenever they get frustrated and really speak their minds to the other without worrying about the consequences (with the each other OR the viewers). They both seem very "say it as you see it" in interviews and I think that translates to their partnership as a whole.

I think the partnerships as a whole have been put together brilliantly and most seem to have really bonded. Not getting Vincent and Felicity, but perhaps they just haven't had the kindest edit??

I think Brendan and Michelle are a great pairing, although I don't know how she doesn't drive him round the bend sometimes! He's come a long way since the days when he would have a strop over a poor performance.

Scott and Natalie seem to have a solid, professional partnership; they don't seem to muck about in training as much as some of the others which may make them less engaging to watch.

I really love the fact that, while they have confirmed they are an item, Kara and Artem really don't make it embarassingly obvious like a certain other couple from last year! Kara does come across as honest and open, unafraid to challenge Artem, and yet so trusting to do all the crazy tricks he puts in if she can't talk him out of them!

The fact that apparently their amazing cartwheel trick at the end of their Salsa 'went wrong' in dress rehearsal - and I can't imagine that being a minor problem, she must have landed on her head or something - and they still pulled themselves together and nailed it for the show.

Ann and Anton the most genuine by a country mile.

Have they really confirmed it, when & where? Good on them if they are an item. She said on the documentary last night recorded in the summer about her and her boyfiend spitting up.

Also great Jimi has been confirmed for the tour I was hopeing he would be as he loved dancing so much.

Apologies, the hubbie came home a couple of days ago saying he had seen it confirmed in the papers, didn't specify which. Having just done a quick search can't actually find anything definite, but maybe he saw this?:

Still, there's plenty of quotes saying they fancy each other, so they could be unbarable to watch but they're not! Which was my original point!

PS will give hubbie an ear-bashing over misinformation tonight!

This was the latest comment that Kara or Artem made on the situation (at the end of the interview). The Sun article spins Kara's quotes a bit.

A few of the others - such as Kristina and Patsy - have strongly hinted they're already an item.

Who knows, but I think they have a very strong partnership, regardless of what else may or may not be going on.

Depends on what you meant by genuine. If you mean by getting comfortable with each other to the point that they can each speak their mind without having to put an act in front of the camera, then I would say most of them still left in the competition except:

* James and Pam. James is quite obviously getting a little fed-up with Pam for whatever reasons and appears to be running out of patience and in his own admission, using sarcasm.

* Ann and Anton. From the training clip, it seems obvious that Anton was trying to teach her how to shuffle her foxtrot through gritted teeth. He knows he can't scold her because she would take none of those from him. So cue in forced smiles. Very tedious to watch indeed.

I think Matt and Aliona are the most genuine and their chemistry is sizzling on the dancefloor and I think they are definitely going to prove that tomorrow with their hot rumba.

What I was getting at was when we see all the couples saying how well they are getting along, are they really getting along, or just for the sake of the cameras/public vote...

So yes, I agree about Ann & Anton, to an extent but I think they are quite similar to Felicity and Vincent... insofar as the two ladies believe they are having enormous fun and their respective partners are enjoying the experience as much as they are but Anton & Vincent might have a slightly different (private) view of things...

I think that in ALL the couples their must be times when they get fed up with each other....it wouldnt be human not too when they have to spend so much time together.....and they are in a teacher/pupil relationship and those can be very frustrating at times.

I just hope Aliona doesn't put in naff steps (like Pam forcing James to swing her like an aeroplane), or overcompensating by doing too much flourish and embellishments in front of him, making Matt look inconsequential, then they might just nail it.

Matt seems flexible enough to look good in a Rhumba...

I agree with the general consesus that Patsy and robin (love them as a gal with her best gay friend), although they are not my favourite contestants), matt and aliona (get more of a brother and sister relationship) and Kara and artem ( a proper hot chemistry there).
Gavin and katy a and jimi and Flavian look like good relationship, but a tad lower than the three above.
Scott and Natalie, as the poster above, I get the feeling that he is not totally comfortable with her, maybe she is too full on for him, like he is concerned with what his wife is going to say. The same for James and Pamela.
Vincent and felicity and Anton and Ann, the least genuine.

His jaw was so clenched I thought Claudia was going to have to winch it open. He did not seem to be in the comedy mood last night.

I had a dream last night that Matt and Aliona's rumba was amazing and completely stole the show on Saturday night!!!! ..although in the dream I was slightly disappointed as I was hoping Kara would outdo him with her AT

Patsy and Robin had great body language on ITT. She kept taking his hand and even put her hand on his leg! I'd say they get on very well.

Ann and Anton didn't look very relaxed. She was leaning away from him the whole time.
