That prize was scraping the barrel wasn't it.

They still said "oh goody" didn't they, the little darlings.

Donald Trump gives proper prizes. Breakfast with Warren Buffett. Your own diamond.

A karaoke night, ffs.

YOU CAN KEEP YOUR EFFING KARAOKE NIGHT

It's bizarre. The rewards have got worse as the show has got bigger.

Someone of the rewards in series 1 included a trip to Monaco and a stay at Skibo Castle (flown by private jet).

Now they get karaoke with a nice watery cocktail.

2 for 1 Subway vouchers next week

I think its both a mix that the BBC got close to trouble with some of the rewards in the earlier series. That and theres less money to go round for rewards AND...

Well theres also the main fact that the reward takes up about one minute IF THAT per episode so why bother pouring money into that area of the show?

yes - you are probably right. Well - they should have a spin off then shouldn't they.

A look round the home

A extra half hour show about the rewards

they have loads of strictly extra time shows.

The prizes have got a bit naff, but I think it's right the BBC isn't spending too much money on the prizes. They spend around a minute on footage of the prize, it's not that big a deal.

I agree that the prizes only need to be small and cheap.

But they could at least try and make them somehow relevant to the task they have just done.

Admittedly, I can't think of a treat for this weeks task.

There were some cheapo ones in series one though - a trip round the London eye, Dinner with Suralun at an Italian and clay pigeon shooting.

I think there was. Yummy-looking cocktails, which made the prize marginally less crap.

Makes you wonder if whoever wins might be onto a loser anyway via a massive salary cut.

Have to say, best "reward" moment was on the Irish version last week. They were trying to do a marketing campaign for a big jewellers, and Bill (our Alan) says "Now as a reward for doing a good job on Applebys Jewellers, you're all getting a shopping spree!" The girls' eyes lit up, couldn't believe it. They were right!

"At Smyths Toystores!" he finished.

I nearly wet meself!!!!

But the BBC isn't spending anything on the prize - It's an independant production so the production company spends the money, the BBC buys a completed programme.
There probably is pressure from the BBC to downsize the prizes, but come on - Karaoke! surely the producers can do better than that? makes you wonder whats to come. Pizza night in anyone?

I did occur to me that they'd been saving this "prize" for a week in which neither team does well and they only get a winner by default... I honestly don't think "Octikleen" deserved more than a karaoke session!

The prize reflects the nature of their 'victory', I think.

Exactly. Nobody won in the true sense. One side just didn't do as horribly badly as the other.

The "treat" was appropriate for a dismal result.

If we get another performance as bad as last weeks advertising effort, then the prize should be a night in washing lord als undercrackers.

Id didn't even look like a 'Night' more one drink in the afternoon of a closed bar.

And the singing look totally forced... but then they were also crap in the task.

Yeah, I don't think that task deserved any treat anyway. Last week was lame I hope tonight's better!

My wife went to a decent Karaoke bar in London. It cost her £6 for 2 hours with drinks and snacks extra. And there were 30 people....

Karaoke is not that cheap....

Still a crap prize but better than the laughing bloke from a couple of years ago.
