AirPrint is still present in 4.2 and it works fine if you have a printer that supports the feature directly (which is currently only about 5 models of HP printer).
Apple removed support for AirPrint from Mac OS X 10.6.5 and iTunes 10.1 for Windows. That means that you can't use iOS 4.2 to print to a printer that is shared through your computer. As you have noted, it is possible to enable it by using some files from the beta of iTunes 10.1
