Orange can a disconnected phone be reconnected ?

A friend of mine recently took out a new contract with Orange. He brought the phone over the phone so was covered by the DSR. During the cooling of period he found out his job might be at risk. He contacted Orange and has requested to send the phone back as if he loses his job he will not be able to afford the contract. They have canceled the contract without any problem. If he finds out in a weeks time that his job is safe. Will he be able to reactivate the contract (if he keeps hold of the phone for a week or so)? He was on one of the last unlimited data plans, would he stay on that if they did reactivate his line ? Would he keep the online discount ?

Not sure because orange have changed 85% of their tariffs, it would mean taking out a new contract, if i am correct and sending the disconnecting phone back.

Yes, I got disconnected after I missed a payment by a couple of months, but when I called to make the payment I was told that I could be reconnected to Orange for £28.00. However, in saying that, I was at the end of my contract so it maybe different for your friend.

A DSR disconnection has to be sent back, as an RA number (Returns Authority) will have been attatched to the equipment. If it's not returned within 28 days they'll be invoiced for the equipment.

Not wishing to dispute what you said but I have just called my friend to tell him. He told me he had spoken to channel returns yesterday and they told him he had 30 days to return the phone and during that time it could be reconnected. So now he is well and truly confused.
