She consistently the best dancer in the competition but gets pick up on the slightest thing. Scott and Matt get 8 and 9's for completing the dance. Scott gets 10 when he loses timing and obvious mistakes.

I'm hoping this means Kara will get the support of the public and beat the pair of them.

I agree, but as you pointed out I think long term it'll benefit her. Matt's competitiveness might be his undoing too.

I think its helping her not being seen as a judges favourite, she isn't getting the pretty girl backlash that supposedly other females got... not that I noticed much from others but its all people talk about with regards to Rachel etc

I'm not too bothered about it to be honest because I think she'll benefit in the long-run but I did think tonight that Scott was slightly overscored. I'd have given him 9s across the board because it was great, his kicks and flicks were fabulous but in the basic steps he was a little steppy and I was really surprised when he got three 10s. But eh, he's wasn't ridiculously overscored, just slightly.

With Kara & Artem, Bruce was absolutely right - it looked like two professionals dancing together. Amazing,

Actually, Kara also had a timing/balance issue about a third in. She's really good - and I thought better than Matt tonight but she's not being unfairly marked overall. I also wish they'd dress her in a less hideous outfit. She's got a lovely figure but these geometric cutouts are so unflattering.

I thought Kara should have got 4 10s myself......Scott was good too but Kara will be helped by not being seen as teachers pet.

Scott was slightly overscored and Matt was massively overscored - it seems like the judges will give a male celeb a 9 just for getting through a rumba 38 was a very good result for Kara.

Kara will suffer the same fate as Rachael Stevens. Nice enough, a good technical dancer and loved by the judges, but ultimately too bland to captivate the majority of the voting public and win.

Also she responds really well to criticism and Artem is an amzing teacher. Her dances further on will be amazing, you just know it.

I don't think she is bland, I like her personality when she is on ITT. She comes across likeable and very self deprecating.

No, it wasn't that good.

38 was quite generous, I thought.

Although it was definitely the best AT so far, but that's not saying much, you know?

Yes, I don't think she's anywhere near as bland as 'amazin' Rachel Stevens (who I think is a really nice woman btw but not charismatic at all) and I suspect Artem will pull in votes too.

It's not easy to captivate the general public when she complains that having a busy week is doing a few interviews and going on a tv show. Life is just too hard, poor dear, maybe she shouldn't have to do anything but train?

Agree that she is an amazing dancer but she needs to maybe work on the personality side of things too.

I do wonder if the judges take into account that she is free to train all hours whereas Scott and Matt have very busy schedules - only fair if they do.

Kara and Scott totally stole the show tonight. Perhaps Kara needs to do whatever Patsy is doing, she is consistently overmarked in my (non-dancer) opinion.

Actually I don't think that's fair at all. The judges should solely judge on what they see on the night. If the public want to take that into account then fair enough but that's not the role of the judging panel.

I don't understand the claims of Kara having no personality, she's a little firecracker Is it that people say that because they feel threatened on their favourite's behalf and have to pick on something about her?

I can see anything wrong on the personality side.

I thought the VT looked badly edited, mentioning all the work she had on, but failing to mention that at least some of it was down to promoting her documentary that was on BBC3 the other night.

I thought it was worth a 9 myself

There's no denying she's a good dancer, but there were moments when she lost it and it was a bit stilted. Also a lot of moments that were very good.

At the end of the day, she scored 38/40 - there isnt much room to complain about that score

Historically the best dancers do get picked up on trivial slip ups, so Kara is not being singled out. I have to say, its really hard for me this year because its all three that you mention are on a par imo. I get really excited waiting to see these three perform.

Matt is NEVER overscored!
The judges seem to pick up on the slightest little thing with him. Hell, one week, Len even scored Matt only one mark more than Anne, of all people!

Absolutely agree But I'm not mad about it, weirdly lol. I don't know why but I expect the judges to let the male celebs away with a lot more than the female ones, especially the ones as good as Kara.
