I said in week one it would be an 'Eastenders' final. Am not surprised at all, that Matt and Aliona are being undermarked. Annoyed, yes. Surprised - no.

I totally agree with all of these comments.

Matt was very stiff and jerky in all his movements. Aliona did most of the dancing, possibly to cover up Matt's poor movement.

His dancing still looks to me like that of a hard working 10 year old, but with the added unease of the Rumba, he was more like an awkward teenager.

I don't think Matt is a natural dancer, but he's definately a very hard worker and that shows.

Matt's a decent enough dancer but was hardly undermarked.

He's not undermarked, he's just missing the 'X factor' (urgh ) that gets people 10s - whether or not they merit them on technical skill etc.

To get a 10, you have to sweep the audience right into the dance, and despite the fact I think he's fantastic, I can see why Matt hasn't done that yet and Scott and Kara have.

Even Claudia said on Friday's ITT that the 10 thing is manufactured by the Strictly Production team to suit "their purposes". It's a shame that some people can't see that.”

Yep, he has never asked for, or implied he should get, a 10. Tess and Claudia are doing him no favours. Viewers just hear the word 'Ten' spoken in association with Matt and make their own assumptions.

I'm sure Matt doesn't worry about such things.

This thread makes quite interesting reading. Some people are very sure that Matt is overly competetive and keeps asking for 10s. I'd say that Scott and Gavin are actually more openly competitive (though Gavin has had to put up with getting low marks because he did not "take to" dancing as quickly as some of the other men.

This year I don't have a particular favourite couple. I liked Jimi's enthusiasm, and have always liked Flavia, so I was sorry that they went out (not that they would ever have deserved to win!).

I think that Scott, Kara and Matt are the 3 dancers who most deserve to be in the Finals, unless things change suddenly. Pamela, to me, is just a little bit behind them. Matt needs to get over his nerves. It's good to get the rumba out of the way, as it tends to be disastrous for most male celebs. His rumba was streets ahead of Scott's, but I don't think it was undermarked. The marking is all over the place this series anyway, and it will be the public who ultimately decide the winner. Matt just needs another wow factor dance to get his confidence back - and maybe a bit more time for rehearsal (he's been exceptionally busy recently). I think he has serious potential, and I'd love to see him get a 10 or two at some stage. But I won't bang on about that, because the poor guy has had enough of that from Claudia and Tess. Who keep reminding him that others are earing them for fun now, and why isn't he!!!

Last week he was undermarked as with previous weeks. Not this week though. This was his worst dance in my opinon, glad he got it out of the way. The only outstanding rhumba I can remember from the male celebrities was from Collin Jackson. Scott deserved a 40 in my opionion, he blew me away, was technically brilliant and thrilling. Loved the door, loved the energy in his kicks. loved it all.
