He is the only judge that has not given out a ten yet, even though i thought he was going to give one out tonight.

Who do you think will get his first ten??

Did anyone think that scott and natile were expecting a ten from craig, there faces did look a bit disappointed when he gave them a nine.

It's hard to tell really. Craig usually leaves it until quite late in the competition to start handing out 10s. Sometimes he's right and sometimes he's just being picky lol. I think the first couple to squeeze a 10 out of him this year will probably either be Scott or Kara, maybe Pamela or Matt. To be honest, I'm wondering what could do it because if Kara's AT (the sharpest, best performed, most technically proficient dance so far this year) couldn't do it, what in the hell will it take? I thought that dance was flawless. I'm actually hoping Claudia asks Craig why he didn't give it a 10 this week, I want to hear his answer.

I've never thought 10's were necessarily about faultless performances. I don't think they exist, for starters.

It's about a dance being extra special - giving you goosebumps. So it's very subjective. If Craig didn't quite feel that with Kara & Artem's Argentine Tango then I guess he didn't think it worth of full marks.

It's not pointless at all! You made me feel like I'm not alone so there's your point

His answer might have something to do with the non-technical/performance element, but Claudia will probably ask him (and Len too).

I think a celeb dancer needs to be able to deliver a technically perfect (or near perfect) performance whilst being relaxed enough/having enough in reserve to deliver on the acting/story-telling side as well in order to get a 10 from Craig.

If that was true in regards to Craig I would fully understand but I remember Craig saying Alesha's waltz gave him goosebumps that it was the first time he'd ever felt anything on the show and he still gave it a nine lol. I just think he holds off as long as possible to give a ten. Even if a great dance comes along, he'll give it a nine til they hit week 8 or thereabouts.

I think Craig does hold off on the tens for as long as possible. He gave Ali a ten at Blackpool last year which I thought was early for him (although she had been in the bottom 2 the previous week - ahem... cynicism ).

I don't think he wants to give a ten this early unless it's really special. If Kara's AT had come a few weeks later and she'd performed later in the programme he might have awarded her the perfect score. He obviously didn't think Scott was any better than she was which was why he didn't mark him any higher.

Yep, that 10 for Ali last year was uncharacteristically early.

It's possible that he thought Scott was better in terms of performance/acting whereas Kara was technically better = 9s for both.

However much I think Ali was a wet fish last year, I thought she thoroughly deserved her perfect 40 score for her VW last year! It was truly magical.

Perhaps he will give a 10 when someone deserves it.

10s should be saved for the semi and final - throwing them around too often and too early just devalues them.

Oh I don't begrudge the ten - it was a beautiful dance. However, I do think it's possible that Craig might still have held off awarding one had she not been in the bottom two the previous week. That's not to say I'd have agreed with him but I think it may have just nudged him over the ten line.

Has anybody ever had the perfect score of 40 at week 8? It's a genuine question, my brain cells are somewhat tender this morning

I hope it's not for a long while yet, I was actually hoping Kara and Scott didn't get perfect scores because after perfect scores grow common in a series I find it falling somewhat flat... the celebrities just have no room to grow.

I'd quite happily not see a 10 from Craig until the final.

Craig will award his first 10 when a couple perform a faultess, perfect dance - something we havent seen yet

A 10 should be awarded for total perfection - not handed out like sweets
