I believe Scottish Jennie is in we will rock you. Katie will have a great future no worries and the Great Simon supports her.

She is definitely not a strong shouty singer but she has a raspy natural vocal that I love. I dont go in for yodelling or loud singers.

I do hope she is in the bottom 2 tonight. ANd if she forgets her words AGAIN and does another strop then it's all good fun!

SHe is a mediocre singer but what she lacks is likeability when she performs. A shame as if she came across as more demure, down to earth and decent that I am sure she would get votes

Anyone who is certain Katie will be in the bottom two is an idiot. Nobody can really know who the public are going to vote for. For all we know, Katie could top the votes this week, unlikely yes but true all the same. I've picked up the phone for her a few times this weekend though.

You dont have to be the best singer in the world to make it big in the pop music industry.. stand up Robbie Williams, Madonna, Chris Martin and the rest..

Katie was useless last night, but I loved her jungle book number, bewitched .. and the sing off last week was great.. she thought she was going home which proves she is humble, she didnt want to go home which proves she is human and she used the words of the song "dont give up on me " to plead to the judges, the audience and the viewers. Pure genius. She will go far whether she wins this or not.

I think the OP has missed the point in what a great singer is.

It might not be everyone's taste, but Barbara Streisand is a great singer, Shirley Bassey is a great singer, Celine Dion is a great singer, as I said they might not be to everyone's taste but to name just 3 can sing.

Katie is not even a good singer, let alone a great one.

The point is that there is no objective thing as a great singer for all. Music is subjective.

It is what affects you personally, emotionally and reaches you. It does not have to be a loud, note perfect singer but someone who when they sing touches your soul or makes you smile or want to dance.

For me in the context of this reality show Katie is a great singer with a raspy vocal that I enjoy listening to.

Note perfect singers like Michael Crawford, Ewan McGregor, Leonard Cohen, Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole, Marvin Gaye, Elaine Paige etc etc and so on turn me on as do Abba and many kinds of music.

No I would not go on the tour but I would love to see a gig with Rebecca singing.

I appreciate that music is subjective (personally I think Shirley Bassey shouts too much and I don't like Celine Dion, love barbra though) but one thing I do expect is for someone making their living as a singer to be able to sing in tune

Wholly untrue... Personal taste is purely subjective, music itself certainly is not.

You don't have an out of tune piano in an orchestra because it would sound "discordant" whether you happen like it or not! Exactly the same principle can be applied to singers, the voice is simply another instrument...

If the notes didn't matter there wouldn't be much point writing them down in the first place.

music is subjective too but again it depends on how you view the world. For me it is subjective every single aspect of it. e.g. I cannot stand jazz music, piano concertos and so on.
