Jagged, there are millions of good singers in the world, why have you got so wrapped up in Katie? Because of the media machine and feel sorry for her? She is a very average singer with limited range and power - she hungers for fame and that seems to be her primary 'talent'.

Yes there is a subjective aspect, but the fundamentals have to be in place first...

A "great" musician will play the right notes in the right order as a solid foundation on which to build their interpretation.

Thats neil diamond.

Stay by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs would be a good choice given the 'theme' she has going with sing off songs, although too rangey really.

I'm not sure she'll be in the sing off though, Paije, Mary and aiden are just as likely in my view.

I've never heard her sing a song in key all the way through (not even her famous sing off songs) but I do quite like her. I'm surprised that you thought Cher was awful last night. I had her 2nd best after Rebecca with Aiden third (I'm not a Matt fan)

I just thought the first half of the song Cher did was sung really badly, she couldnt hit the high notes properly, and it sounded very harsh to my ears.

Aiden was flat through the whole song, as he has been every week but week one.

He seems to hide behind the affectations , and it seems to work, but he isnt in tune.

My ideal "song" choice for Katie is "Happy birthday Mr President" a la Monroe. She has the perfect voice for that, unfortunately she is not so endearing.

She is not the worst singer by any means but great? No way. No matter what your personal preferences a singer who has delivered out of tune and off key vocals week after week can never be accurately described as great.

She's been in the bottom two on three occasions now and is likely to be there again tonight. Some people like her but clearly the vast majority don't rate her much.

It will be interesting to see whether (if she is in the bottom 2) Simon chooses to save her again considering he is the one who often says the public get it right. He doesn't seem to have thought so where she is concerned, the public are clearly saying they don't want her to stay and he's ignored that.

With respect this is X factor digital spy board specifically. The media machine are wrong. Nothing to do with sympathy in the context of this season's X factor I like her vocal but dislike the unfair press. But the vocal and personality shines through for me.

I have no inside knowledge or have spoken to Katie personally to hear from her if she is as you suggest 'fame hungry' but most young or older people would like a little bit or a lot of fame. I would call that self actualising or trying to find yourself and make the most of your life. It's not like she has hurt a puppy or anything bad. Success or winning a contest is the most lovely feeling, I have experienced that in my life and it makes you feel good at the time and something for the memory box.

I would still choose her vocal over an unintersting repetive copycat singer.

Her voice IS the weakest. Other than Wagner, but he's just a joke now. But she has the least control, the smallest range and in my opinion the worst tone out of all the "singers".

Katie and her supporters will only ever believe that it is media hype that puts her at the bottom each week, they need to wise up and realise people don't want to waste money on voting for her because she is not very good!

she has a unique voice, but hardly a great singer imo

Me too......You either get her or you don't but those that like her ( there are quite a few ) will buy her records.

Cher's got some growing up to do, and Rebecca is being set up by the judges for one mighty fall, she isn't that good, I find her boring, would rather watch Wagner

I dont see her not being in the bottom two as controversial really.

Any week wagner, who hasnt yet sung on the show and we are 6 weeks in, isnt in the bottom two is controversial in my view.

I'm not a fan of Katie, but I dont get people saying how bad she is, whilst at the same time applauding Wagner. It just makes no sense to me.

Wagner also gets as much apparent help from the production team, but never gets criticised for it.

Katie was useless last night, but I loved her jungle book number, bewitched .. and the sing off last week was great.. she thought she was going home which proves she is humble, she didnt want to go home which proves she is human and she used the words of the song "dont give up on me " to plead to the judges, the audience and the viewers. Pure genius. She will go far whether she wins this or not.”

I wonder if we'll even remember her name this time next year!

If viewers voted on their singing voice Wagner would have gone by now............The press have slaughtered Katie, and that has had a huge impact on her likability. people really do believe and judge contestants on what they read in the rags.

I thought Wagners success was down to an orchestrated campaign. On the other hand a chap I spoke to recently told me he voted for Wagner because he was "fun" and "interesting".

Wagner is the Anne Widdecombe of X-Factor!

Katie's probably about as good a singer as Cheryl singing live!

I was willing Katie to be good last night, I really wanted her to do well but she was given a stupid song to sing, between her attention seeking, fame hungry personality and her mentor turning her into a joke last night, I’m not sure she can sway public opinion now.

we shall see, but whatever happens I hope it is not an ouch moment.

For me Katies constant dramatics and attention seeking has ruined my enjoyment of all things X-Factor!

Add to that she has one of the poorest vocal ranges and her raspy, grating voice, she is a complete debacle
