Konnie hosts the Xtra-Factor program and I wonder why she decided to opted out of wearing a poppy, last night... is it because she is Muslim, ignorant or just nonplussed?

Not 11th of the 11th or Remembrance Sunday?

I didn't realise it was mandatory to wear one.

Perhaps she forgot!

I bought a poppy and it fell off somewhere in Newcastle at the weekend. Does that mean I don't care?

It's Remembrance Day today - I'm sure she'll be wearing one tonight.

This is the sort of poppy-fascism that isnt needed. Wearing a poppy is an individual statement, its not mandatory - and never was. Just because a person doesnt wear a poppy doesnt mean they dont have the same morals, standards and respect for freedom and how its earnt as those who do wear them.

You could well be charged with littering offences and incitement to racial hatred.

I wear one on 11th and Remembrance Sunday but on no other day.

How did the 'mandatory' fall into this thread...it wasn't in the header? I simply asked why?

She wore it on her wrist last week, like a corsage. You could see it when she did the 'X'. I didn't see last nights show, so I don't know if she did the same.

Silly thread man. She can do what ever she wants. It isn't an offence if she doesn't wear one.

Try telling that to certain sections of the tabloid press

You mean the same tabloid press that is obsessed with celebrity, sex and deceit? Oh the irony...

The day we follow them as paragons of virtue is the day we are doomed. What a great society we've becoming...

Good question, thanks The UK can manage to celebrate Nov 5th, days before and even weeks after the day but a remembrance like today is falling under PC laws?...is it really to much trouble to wear a poppy for the fallen of this country and remember the losses of other countries?

No, but some people don't like being morally blackmailed into wearing a poppy. That doesn't mean they didn't donate to the campaign

The Italians switched sides too so it's not without precedent.
and so they did when they realised the Axis was not going to win.

The poppy judgement here is getting as bad as all that flag pin stuff during American elections.

The chances are that she had to change clothes just before the show started and someone forgot to put the poppy back on her. Things can get quite hectic just before a show. Hardly something to get upset about.

Understand this but I'm targeting Konnie and the media. Why has she and others opted out of wearing one? Religious beliefs, bastardisation of it's use? Couldn't give a damn? ...the latter is the worst for me.
