I think Kara's looked more difficult - she seemed to have more to do. The connection was more obvious between Kara and Artem too. It was one of the few occasions when it seemed either could have been the pro dancer (IMHO of course)

Both amazing though......and yes, I agree, Jennifer's dress was so much nicer.

Agreed..I thought Rachel's was the best by far until I saw Kara's.. I also loved Nicole and Derek's, and I preferred all three of those tangos to Jennifer and Derek's, although theirs was definitely still really good..
Also, I think I may be the only one that kinda has a soft spot for Lisa and Brendan's AT..not sure why though

I would love to hear davidjames opinion on the subject. He is the expert.
Also another question, doing the tango early on does it mean that they can do it again if they get to the final stages?

Nobody has matched Derek and Nicole's AT from last season's DWTS IMO.

I like both Kara and Jennifer's, but Kara's just edges it for me, though I can't quite put my finger on why.

Nicole's was brilliant. Mark & Karen's has - up until Kara's - always been my fave SCD dance ever.

Personally, never really "got" Rachel Steven's AT. Again, no idea why.

Considering that:
- Vincent is a AT specialist and derek seems to be too, while artem never dance it before.
- Nicole and Rachel dances were danced in the semifinal when they have had a lot of technique training already on them.
- the dresses were much better for both Nicole and Rachel. Kara and artem were plain silly.
- the chemistry was better kara and artem.
-Nichole's was a bit gynaecological(sorry! I love their dance but could do without those moves)

I would rate Kara a bit higher, just slighty because all of the above.
Marks At can only be judged against another make celeb tango, it wouldn't be fair otherwise. Maybe Ricky and evan (DWS).

Kara's is better than Jennifer, although I love her & hope she wins DWTS. Nicole & Derek's was amazing though and definitely the best I have seen on any of these shows.

I found Jeniffer's to be a better show. That was stunning to watch on TV.
When Kara & Artem came out I thought they were going to do a Billie Jean routine. But Kara had a solo part which was great. I think she did really really well but Jeniffer's edged it somehow.

I would have to put Mark and Karen's AT as the best I've seen but as Mark is my favourite EVER SCD contestant (with Jill Halfpenny very close second) I could be considered slightly biased.

Jen's music is more suited for AT. The dress colour, the male pro dancer looked more sharp (compared with Artem).

BUT Jen's flicks are not as sharp as Kara and though she could do splits (which Kara can't do), Kara just edges it for me.

I know, I am biased. I love Kara.

I preferred Kara and Artem's Argentine Tango, More complex choreography and they have chemistry, warmth towards each other. My second favourite Mark and Karen.

Never seen Nicole's AT! It was jaw-droppingly amazing!!!

Jennifer's tango was superior, and she has more finesse as a dancer. Kara is talented but she tends to poke her head forward a little and her deportment isn't perfect...something which is very important for a dancer.

Don't know who designed Kara's tango dress but it was awful and detracted from her dance. Why put an ugly black frill on one arm like that? It spoils the line of the arm. Wish she had been given a better outfit.

Have you noticed the common denominator of Jennifer and Nicole's AT the wonderful....amazing Derek Hough. There were rumours he would be doing a showdance on Strictly this year.....I didnt think that would be true as DWTS is still on......but it finishes in 2 weeks (even if Derek goes to the final which he should really) so still hoping for an appearance.

Actually Derek like most of the pros has had to learn the AT as he goes. If you watch his clip with Lil Kim it was his first time doing it and he struggled. I would imagine if this is a dance that pros do not do in competition it is a learning curve for them also.

Jen danced to one of the most famous AT's ever written -La Cumparsita - so yes it was the right music. Nice change.

Jen's ganchos (flicks as you called them) were actually better than Kara's and Derek Hough - who choreographed both Jen's a Nicole's tangos - has a far greater knowledge of the AT than Artem or any of the SCD pros other than Vincent of course.

I love Kara and Artem and enjoy watching them, but their AT lacked the connection, steps and accuracy of a real AT. I - and my fellow AT dancers - will watch it from a different point of view - which makes your views no less valid I hasten to add.

I judged it on the basis that I was simply watching a dance routine for the pleasure of it and not an AT

The closest SCD has ever come to a really authentic AT with a sleb was Rachel and Vincent. Others rate Mark and Whatsderface - Karen? Whatever turns you on as they say!

He is one of the most talented choreographers I have ever come across in ballroom. So glad he does other things too. If he only did ballroom the world would lose out!
