Does "AWFUL" count as an option?

Bad, they have no stage presence, their voices are shakey and usually require some inhuman-sounding backing track to support their vocals. Plus they are constantly performing near the end of the show which proves they are needing that extra support to help them with votes.

Also, Simon's making the same mistake Louis did with JLS, by creating a lead singer. It may give the group a sense of identity, but if you can't stand the lead singer then they are majorly screwed. Liam's got about as much charisma as a lamp-post.

I couldn't stand the guy who took the lead in JLS and that cost them votes in my opinion.

Yeah, I'd go for awful too if it were an option.

Their solo voices are very weak and there's only ever some depth when they're all singing together (to the backing tape )..... did anyone else notice that Zain's mic seemed to be switched off when he did his second solo bit? The feed being turned off prematurely or just an unavoidable technical hitch?

One thing does stand out from their performance, though, and that's the way in which the judges were falling over themselves to heap superlatives on the quintet. Surely, surely, surely no one is really still fooled...... or maybe they are

Do you get these opinons from teenage girls and little girls OP?

They are bloody awful in mine. Even Wagner is better.

I think you should add "Fantastic" to the list.

That's what Dannii called them.

If you watched last night Harry was given lead and he is so much more interesting than Liam both vocally and stage presence. I think they are improving and are typical boy band. pleasant on the eye and ok vocals.

Dreadful.

Only 2 of them can sing & that's debatable.

The rest are bookends & Zain's miming & stage demeanour are shocking.

Loved Liam at his first audition.

Loved them as a group at Simon's house.

Liked them the first few weeks.

Now, I'm sort of bored of them. Liam is always so miserable, and I now like Harry the best. Zain can't sing for shit. The dark haired Bieber one is awful to watch. Blondie is OK. Their performances have yet to impress me and stay in my mind so far. They are good but nothing special at the moment. The judges praise for them is very OTT, they need some constructive criticism because something's not quite working. They aren't gelling as a group.

Want them to come either 3rd/4th. At the moment, they aren't deserving any higher.

In the middle of it last night, one of them (zain?) mouthed one word and out of my TV came a different one altogether.

Miming is simply unforgivable, it makes them worse than wagner, hes hopeless, but he at least lets us hear him being so.

Surely its little girls (pre-teens) that are voting for them - via the mobiles mummy and daddy provide, isn't it? They are certainly not voting for the lads great voices and electrifying performances..........are they?

They're okay. I kind of dislike them because they're lucky to be doing well, as in Cowell and co. are pimping them out as much as possible because they're marketable as they're hot and have a fair bit of the teen market hooked already, not because they've consistently shown their talents like, say, Matt.

You missed FUNNY

I always watch Niall (the exuberant blond Irish lad) being nodded in by Liam when he has to do his bit part ...ooohh.

Niall is always on Liams right hand side, so he can get a thump when he sings out of time, or to push him forward to get him to move at the right time

So can you add FUNNY too

They are a 'Disaaaaaaaaaaaaster Darling'!

All backing track, Johnsons baby lotion and hair gel!

No vocal, no talent

IMO, they are "good" at the moment, with the potential to be "great". Lots of charisma, very likeable, competent enough vocals and with the right marketing will be huge.

You also missed "shambolic". They are not a group, they are 5 individuals who don't have a clue what they're doing.

If you look at them individually, Liam has a decent enough voice but no charisma. Harry doesn't have a strong enough voice to sustain singing solo for a full song so to put him in a group makes sense (he'd be OK if the others were up to standard). Zain can't sing, can't move and doesn't seem to have a personality either. Then there are the other two. There are no harmonies, their weak vocals are boosted by OTT backing vocals on the tracks and they can't move and "sing" at the same time.

Yet nobody ever criticises them. They're as bad as Wagner in terms of talent. Just less entertaining.

I would have bland as an option.

They are the musical equivolent of magnolia paint. The only reason they are doing so well is because of the tweenie vote. If you notice each week, the judges will give critique along the lines of "Oh, you're so cute", "The girls will love you" etc. Very little is actually said about their vocals,.

Personally, I think they are forgettable in the extreme - but then again, boybands have never been my thing, even when I was a tweenie!

Is there a vote for "5 teenagers who can sing a bit having the time of their life and doing everything they are told to do with a smile on their face"?

Ok, none of them are Pavarotti, but some of the hatred written on here for them because all 5 mombers are not the equals of Matt or Rebecca is ridiculous.

If asked the question "which X Factor contestant is having the time of his life?" then you'd be hard pushed to look further than Niall. He's got a permanent grin on his cheeky chops.

Good luck to him and them, win or not, they will be hitting the stage at every teeny-bopper summer festival next year with 6 months behind the scenes training once X Factor is over, where they will become more honed as a unit.

If the public were party to "Take That - the formative months" as they bumbled around working out what best way to portray themselves as a group, I think they'd have got the same sort of criticism.

But we shouldn't be voting on who is having the most fun, it's allegedly a singing competition and while a lot of people freak out over those who are voting for Wagner for a laugh, why is it OK to vote for these kids because they are cute and having fun? I'm sure FYD were having fun back in week one. AND they could sing in tune.

You mean can't sing, don't write songs and don't play instruments and attempt to sing along to backing track where the backing singers are much better.

Pretty bad IMHO

Milli vanilli welcome back
