Short of a miracle with his album sales, this is probably the end for him. Syco have totally screwed up on this one - Shayne was a pretty obvious popstar (unlike Steve/Leon) and seemed certain to go down the "British Justin Timberlake" route.

I think they're eyeing up Labrinth as their next solo male star.

Lets be honest, his career is over.

He's more likely to end up on next years IAC than number 1 in the charts.

After the amount of promotion for the song over the past week number 12 is a bit of a disaster. There again it was a dreadful song so I'm not that surprised. I think the album make just scrape into the top 10.

Shayne is a good singer but the powers that be dont seem to have a clue who to deal with any of the male winners.

Perhaps it might not be Shayne's or his management's fault. The problem could lie within Commerical Radio i.e. Joe McElderry.

He's not just good, he's an excellent singer.

Maybe he should diversify - try his hand at acting/musical theatre, like Gareth Gates.

He'd be a great leading man.

I do agree there. Joe's song got no airplay at all and it wasn't that bad. I guess the same thing has happened to Shayne.

#12 - exactly where I said it would be aswell; it's a shame seeing as it was #4 at the start of the week. Still 8 places higher than the original.

I still think that's good seeing that no radio or music channel would play him, add that to Simon hiding him away for 3 years and bringing him back with an ok cover. Simon only has himself to blame.

I wish Shayne would stop sucking up to Syco aswell, he quite clearly doesn't care about him! He only has kept him on this long to squeeze this last bit of money out of him. What's 3 million album sales when you've got a pair of legs like Leona, eh.

Joe's situation was slightly different.

The only reason Shayne couldn't get airplay anywhere was because the song wasn't good enough. That's Syco's fault.

The very same thing could happen to Wand Erection, if god forbid they ever made records.

Number 12 is terrible. That's half a Joe.

Shayne should have come out.

Why do I get the feeling that Simon won't mention this on the Xtra Factor tonight?

To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if Simon haden't even bothered to find out where Shayne charted, he cares that little about him.

Because he's the first artist to ever do a cover?

Clutching at straws to bitch about the man, I think

If they do, Simon's response will be: '...who's Shayne?'

Not at all but after such a long time away, he really should have come back with more of a bang and released a new song which really showed who he is as an artist.
