Any reason you feel the need to speak for other people, TerryM22?”

I was speaking for myself, I found the message rather offensive, and wondered why there was the need for it, perhaps you will class it as a negative comment.

Why the Ann love?

That is where you presumed to speak for others.

PS the clue is in the word "all"

She's highly unlikely to have a dose of that. The 'of that' is probably superfluous. If it was a choice between her and Gavin then she wins every time. Love her or hate her she brings in the punters - perhaps she is being lined up to replace Brucie

Your post is full of inconsistencies.

'Everyone' can't want her to go - otherwise how is she still in the competition? Some people must be voting for her.

And I think you mean that in your opinion she is by far the most popular and entertaining and most anticipated contestant. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, there seems to be a strange virus spreading among Ann's supporters where they automatically assume she is the most popular contestant.

Much as they might like that to be true, that isn't necessarily the case, and since the BBC don't/won't release the public votes, we shall never know.

We do, however, know that Ann is being given more publicity than any other contestant, and that she has an army of supporters in the media trying to claim that anyone who doesn't think she should win is a 'snob'.

Sorry to burst their bubble - and that of people on here talking about 'dance purists' (:yawn - but a great many viewers actually just aren't entertained by Ann. She makes little or no effort in learning to dance, and is rude, arrogant and full of her own self-importance. And that's not 'Ann hate'. It's a conclusion drawn from the way she behaves in public.

Some people are obviously inspired to vote for someone who is lazy and self-obsessed - and that's their choice. But a great many of us aren't.

Why can't ppl see the difference between Ann the ex politician and Ann the entertainment show contestant? I can't stand her political views but she's fun to watch on the show.

Probably because they don't like her past being whitewashed out of existence as if she was just some innocent older woman?

Probably because the views she held as a politician remain matters she still campaigns on now?

Good for you if you find her fun. A great many of us don't.

Get rid of the old biddy, its just not funny any more. Having her on is making me grind my teeth and that's not good.

I can separate Ann's political views and her appearance on SCD perfectly adequately. What I can't do is find anything remotely entertaining in either her inelegant galumphing nor her claims that these contain any comedic content.

God, how bitter do YOU sound? What would the anti-Ann brigade do if Margaret Thatcher was young or well enough to be a contestant??!! I shudder to think!

Because there is no difference - she's awful in both avenues.

'Fun' has been redefined? Why was I not informed?

To you maybe. I'd rather watch a pigeon eat a dead rat thanks very much. In fact I think I'd vote for that pigeon before I'd vote for AW. Probably even the rat too.

Sorry. There appears to have been an error.

The person of whom you speak is no longer recognised on this forum.

Please try starting another thread about one of the other celebrities...

She certainly behaves as though still in the house-of-commons,with her constant attempts to pre-empt some judges' remarks and always having to have an answer for the rest.

Well let's give her some credit - in the HOC at least she demonstrated some rhythmic ability by shaking her hand to and fro every so often. That's a hell of a lot more than she's done on Strictly

If you get a kick of thinking I'm bitter, good for you. Is that your attitude to people who have different opinions to you? Even if I was bitter, you could at least respect my bitterness!

And I doubt Margaret Thatcher would lower herself to do a show like Strictly. Love 'em or loathe 'em, her aspirations went a bit beyond making a fool of herself on a Saturday night television show ...

Putting ANY politician on SCD would arouse controversy. That's why the producers invited Ann on. They think it's good for the ratings. Perhaps they didn't bother to research that Ann is still active in the 'causes' she used to try and create legislation for? I've got news for you: Ann the politician isn't a different person to Ann the entertainment show contestant ... she's one in the same.

If we're to leave who the person is at the door when they're on Strictly, does that mean if Mel Gibson turns up on Strictly next year people will be telling us to just enjoy the dancing and forget that he's a complete crazy person? I think not. The same applies to 'Widdy'.

Maybe we could have a non celebrity version with normal people standing in for the zelebs If people don't know them then they can't be influenced by who they are

Are you kidding? With facebook and bebo and myspace and twitter and stalkers'r'us normal people are just as easy to find dirt on as celebs these days lol. They put their lives up there for everyone to see. Only difference is those people wouldn't have PR people to clean up after them.
