Hate is a harsh description, but I think I've found a solution to my utter loathing of seeing her on Strictly.
Latecomer to the merriment this year. Need to know question... I've seen her referred to as the Virgin of Doom and by various other descriptions which seem to suggest she's... Did she come right out and baldly state she was a virgin, or did she describe herself as an archetypal spinster and inferrence was taken from that? Or did she state sex had never crossed her drawbridge?

Hate is a harsh description, caricature is not.

She actually threatened to sue anyone who implied she is not a virgin.

People like to hate. Ann's an easy target.

I'm so pleased she's likely going to make the final.

The haters will say people are only voting to laugh at her though. Such is their hatred.

What on earth could you be voting her through for if not to laugh at her? It certainly can't be her dancing. Please enlighten me.

Your quite right, and the voting viewers would agree with you, thats why Ann is still in the show.

Are we talking about all the voting viewers here?

So instead of only the fans thinking she's ridiculous, she does too. Well that makes it so much better

I shouldn't think anyone hates Ann,but she has no love of dance and makes very little effort, but arrogantly assumes she can blag it by manipulation ,and she's right, she never lost a general election and knew how to play the public, and continues to do so.
I love to see people improve, and when they really do well you expect them to stay in the competition, not to be sent home, and with the Widdecombe effect, backed by the BBC,more really good dancers could go now

Your quite right, the voting viewers are laughing with Ann, and giving her all the support she needs to get to the Final, in thanks for all the fabulous entertainment she is providing us all with.

Please don't roll your eyes. Comedy routines are perfectly legitimate.

Is refusing to learn any of the latin dances also legitimate?

You were a commendable champion of John Sergeant. Kristina adored him. The audience split was perhaps 50-50, into Week 9 their final week. The final American Smooth earned 25 from the grudging judges, with 5-foot-7(?) 64yo John twice lifting Kristina who never was a featherweight. The audience in favour were smiling with the couple, not ridiculing them.

You ran a 500-votes poll for your shop customers then. Why not now?

I like many others would all vote for Ann over Gavin because she is much more entertaining and the highlight of the show on a Saturday evening, I hope everyone else voted for Ann tonight.

What I don't understand is the people who support Ann do not realise that to those who want her gone DO NOT FIND HER ENTERTAINING!

I watched her so-called Samba last evening and cringed all the way through - even to the glimpse of her yellow back-side!

As for bringing in the punters, she might have done at the beginning but it is because Strictly isn't up against the X-Factor that the ratings have gone up.

Hate no, dislike and totally bored with Ann from day one, yes.

Strictly is all fake tan, dazzling costumes and people really giving it a go to improve each week.

Ann is no fake tan(I can't do it myself as it makes me itch), but the straight up I will not do this, I will not do that from the get go. Why did she sign up, she knew what the show was all about.

Willingness to actually learn, nil. She is like a mechanical wind up toy, does the same thing everytime. I actually think Bubbles the Chimp could do better. Hey at least he could be trained.

Ego Ego Ego. Yes Ann stands and tells everyone this what I am doing next week and the week after that I will be doing this dance.

Last night when she was announced I got up and when to the toilet. For me having a P*ss was more entertaining

That says it all if you would rather watch Ann than Matt, Kara, Scott.......Goldie you would be better off ringing up the Beeb and asking them to replace SCD with repeats of It's A Knockout which also consisted of people rolling round on the floor in order to get laughs and BTW it was FAR more entertaining than Anne will ever be.

Not really I was willing to like as a contestant in spite of them but it's the way she is not even trying on the latin side which miffs me off also her political views are formed in the same mould of 'my way or the highway to hell' as her attitude towards said latin dances. She what the Aussies would call a woozer or in her own terms a Pharasee or just a general prudish spinister stereotype. Also in my book she not entertaining, that dance like was tragic so it would be horrific if someone else went and it's such a shame that Jimi who was throwing himself into it and at least had potential is gone. I wasn't so fussed about Tina and Goldie but they had more potential than she has. The joke was worn painfully thin in my book.

I do think it is a case that most people are laughing at her rather than with her

She knows she is a rubbish dancer and so is just there for the laughs but I really don't think she realises how bad she is (hence her indignation when they didn't praise her doing 'proper steps' in the paso).

It's almost like the Victorian freak show thing or the the well off paying to go to Bedlam to laugh at the lunatics. I find it very uncomfortable to sit through.
