Pensioners don't get out much as winter approaches.

Erm, because the album is shit? Because he sounds like a neutered cat in the lead single? Because the tweenage vote doesn't translate into album sales?

Take your pick, really.

Exactly I totally agree.

Thats why I hope the teen phone gang learn a lesson and dont make same mistake again. One Direction wont get any where if they win the show. they are crap

Clearly you have no clue since you have not listened to the album. LOL.

His album is actually pretty amazing and it's Syco / Modest that are sh**t. Explains how Shayne is also doing as well. Don't know how to management him and others.

But great job on the album especially this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ig0ja2aX_R8 and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrGkBH0_Yjs

But he should be fine since he was picked by 20th Century Fox for Narnia.

Doesn't matter how good it is. If nobody wants it, he'll be cross-selling fries with everything by January.

Would you like some falsetto with that?

Maybe Joe could go large...again.

Oi, I'm not quite a pensioner yet but we're the generation that grew up with the Stones and the Beatles - I know lots of pensioners who can still headbang to Hawkwind but have no idea who Joe McElderry is and would stick pins in their eyes before buying his records!!

Joe got votes from across the board, teenagers, grandmas you name it. He won by a huge margin through his own merit.

Joe's single is a completely different style than on the show, and Syco quite frankly haven't done a great job of promoting it or Joe. A lot of the fanbase have been alienated and may or may not come back with the next single.

As you probably all know Joe's single has not been played on any of Global stations across the country and particularly in the South. That's 18 million radio listeners daily ) , as they felt he was competition for their act. One X factor performance and a handful of other tv shows is not enough to sustain sales he needs airplay.

Joe is going down a storm at his performances across the country and there are good things in the pipeline. You might be a bit too quick to stick the boot in.

Hope your favoured artist does well, and doesn't have to put up with pointless insults from others.

You may be shocked or not to know that even Joes fans, considering the major f**k ups of Syco/Sony are releived that the album is still top 40. You couldn't make it up. The album has got great reviews, BBC music homepage even NME ffs and though not worth much, even DS review.

Anyway Joe's haters will be pleased to know that the Americans have moved in and you won't have to worry about him anymore. 20th Century Fox have not only given him the international release of the new Narnia film theme song but have also included his new single in a different arrangement in the actual film and apparantly other offers are in the making.

Joe is destined for an international career personally I wish he'd stick two fingers up to the U.K but he's far too nice to do that and will always love his home at least the NE and North have always supported him.

Now they do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. In your case, you've just initiated a mating ritual

As Cheryl might be heard to say, he's lost his moJoe.

I believe Joe will not succeed until he becomes an 'adult' in the public eye. He is asexual, and childlike, looking like a 14-year-old. When he appeared in the X Factor people could encounter his sunny personality and buy into his wholesome appeal as the ever-smiling boy child. But out in the real world things will be different, then it's about image in video promo's, and the music. I know I would feel slightly dodgy buying his album, even as a fellow gay male, because it'd be like buying something recorded by a child.

He needs to sex himself up, or he will capture neither the straight nor gay market. That is exactly what JLS have always been about, and Olly, and what they're doing with Shayne. I'm not sure, outside of stocking fillers for grandparents, that there will ever be a big market these days for a new Cliff Richard.

There was a poll/survey conducted during last year's show which suggested that he had the lion's share of the 40/50+ vote.

Yes - clearly all he needs to do is show his backside in Attitude and his career will be saved.

Because although I liked Joe's voice, I really didnt like his new single and the bits I've heard of him album, so decided to not waste my money. I still like Joe though. And think he's talented.

If it works, work it. Sex appeal is a huge part of pop music marketing, and Joe distinctly has NONE.
