They are not as good as I thought they would be...

They were much better as a foresome imo

They all look like a bunch of constipated men who are 'dancing like embarrassing dads'.

I'm no fan of Take That, but I feel that letting Robbie back in has ruined the credibility that the foursome achieved. It's Robbie Williams featuring Take That from now on!

That is EXACTLY what I thought. It was like Robbie Williams feat. Take That. He had far too much of the vocal on that song and, unfortunately for him, Gary (when he got a chance to sing) showed that he sings live so much better than Robbie who made them sound quite amateur. TBH, and I never in a million years thought I'd say this, but Westlife were much better

This absolutely.

Robbie is going to have to learn to be part of a band again and not a solo singer. The vocals were not balanced and he seemed to be trying to steal the show - it isn't a competition Robbie, you are all on the same team now supposedly. More Gary and less Robbie needed.

It seemed very unbalanced tonight, it just didn't gel.

It seems to have affected the quality of the song writing as well. Robbie has had some great songs but also a fair few not so good ones (in my opinion) but Take That as a foursome have been brilliant.

As others have said, it really did feel like (X Factor booming voice...) 'ROBBIE WILLIAMS AND TAKE THAT'.

I'm only 18 so I wasn't really old enough to know the original Take That phase in the early 90s. I really loved the last few albums Take That have done these last few years in their entirety...felt like there were no fillers...and also I've loved Robbie since Angels so I'm hoping the album will be a balance between that and not just Robbie singing leads and having 4 backing singers. Sorry I'm rambling a bit...I don't think I should post things at 5am after being out haha :P

I cant go as far to say Westlife were better - mainly coz I cant be done with them and so had fast forwarded my Sky+ - but I'm not that impressed with the 5 piece Take That and agree with the above.

Robbie doesn't fit in anymore. Mark looks to be the only one truely happy to have him back but as I remember at the time, he seemed to be the one most upset when Robbie left originally.

As a fan of both TT and Robbie I have to say that I agree with the comments regarding Robbie not fitting in . Robbie just stands out on his own as a star, its his personality and charism making it happen naturally

Been around long enough to see "Take That" come, go, reform...come back with Robbie etc and was never a great fan of him or then. They were bound to "showcase" RW...he was the one returning after all.

But what last night showed:

Wand Erection : Baby Band
JLS : Boy Band
Westlife : Adolescent Band
Take That : Man Band

Never thought Id ever say in my life time that I am now a Take That fan, even more so Robbie has returned.

And I thought they performed brilliantly. I even got a few goosebumps

I thought it was cringeworthy.
You say he stands out, shellou, I think Robbie was just doing his own thing and seemed to be ignoring the rest of the band (or should I say Take That?) while Mark seemed desperately to be trying to make them look like they were all glad to be together again.
You can't just slot an ego as big as Robbie's back into a boyband and expect him to work with the team.

Terrible song. Where was the tune? Robbie did have too much vocal. Think he must have contributed more. Sounds like a robbie song with unusual lyrics.
Westlife just joined all their previous songs together and sung that one. Sounded like every other song they have ever done. Why do ppl buy this s++t?

I like Robbie Williams as a solo artist. It was good seeing him back with TT last night but I find Robbie an entertainer and a real showman and now he's back as part of a band again even though the band have had and still are having tremendous success.
I really liked TT back in the nineties but I'm not struck on their songs since the comeback. That tune last night they sang it was a terrible song. In fact I can't say I liked Westlife or JLS songs either. Most of the music nowadays is so disposible. Once you hear it once its not worth a second hearing.

I just wish Robbie would tell it like it instead of all this "Glad to be back"/"I'm so sorry Garry" stuff.

Robbie has rejoined TT as his solo career was nose diving. He could have rejoined them when they first got back together but he declined (because Rudebox was gonna be the next big album) and only rejoined when that bombed.

It also suits TT as it extends this "90s boy band back together" gimmick they have been living off for the past 4 years.

It'll either end with them all sinking off into oblivion over the next couple of years or Robbie will get bored of sharing the limelight and he'll be off again to make another solo album.

Take That sound 'messy' now that Robbie has rejoined them.

The whole song was focused on Robbie Williams. It might as well just be him being solo.

That's exactly how I feel it's going to become! It will be interesting to see how they divide up the vocals of the non-Robbie songs when they perform live. Hopefully all the Robbie hype will die down, but for the moment is really does seem to be all about him.

That said, I've still paid £60 to see them next year...
