Apparently she's performing 'Oh Santa!' on the X Factor final. Mariah's previous Christmas album was highly sucessfull over here, All I Want For Christmas Is You re-enters the chart every year. I think she'll get some sales.

A Christmas album in November debuting at #4 with 56k sold is not a flop.

Didn't it only come out in the US about two weeks ago? It's ridiculous that a two week old album can be called a flop.

Yes. Only two weeks ago and this week it is predicted to sell 40k.

People throw the word flop around too easily these days.

I agree. And that's a higher debut than her original 'Merry Christmas' album. It will sell like hot cakes worldwide in the run up to Christmas.

What are you talking about. It's done pretty well, Xmas albums sell very slowly but are big business in America. This album will be selling for years to come, and it will eventually hit platinum

I remember when Josh Groban's Noel album exploded a few years ago. Xmas albums are successful in the US

Can anyone actually take Carey seriously after what Eminem did to her with 'The Warning'?

What did he do to her?

Claimed he had an affair with her on a song from his relapse album. She did the song Obsessed and still denies it's about him despite a man in the video blatently looking like him. So he did the song The warning. It's all been hush hush since.

Auld Lang Syne is mortifying. I do like most of the stuff though.

Yes, because she was already a superstar and regarded as one of the best singers in the industry YEARS before Eminem became successful lol!

Although, I think this decade, she has become a more of a joke figure in the media, but I still take her and her music seriously.

Who gives a toss about what Eminem thinks. Mariah still has her place and status in the music industry.

He had been saying the same useless crap for the past 8 years, it was nothing new, so I fail to see what exactly he was supposed to have done to Mariah with that lame song.

She is still here making music and still a legend.

Gave the album a try and didn't like it. Nice to hear her vocals are as good as ever. Are they stronger then ever? Hmm, that's debateable. It will probs be another year or so till we hear a new album from her with a baby on the way/

Oh please. He can spew all the vitriol he wants, he'll never be able to affect her legend status. She has the respect of many in the music industry and whatever did or didn't happen between them hasn't changed that. Besides, I hear he made himself look pretty pathetic by some of the things he admitted to about her.

Mariah > Eminem.

Whatever happened between Eminem and Mariah was trivial and blown out of proportion by him. If there's any truth in the lyrics of 'The Warning', you can clearly see that Eminem is, as Mariah would say, "obsessed". He was just making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Which album is The Warning on? I've never actually heard it.

Mariah is a true legend and I can't wait to hear her new album, even though I'm not that keen on Christmas albums in general. Mariah is an exception though!
