Why do people imagine there some kind of rule in relation to number of bottom twos

I keep hearing this, that Katie had been in the bottom two four times why did he keep her etc.

She has still to see off Paige, Wagner and Mary yet

The public dont get a choice in this, they are voting to save people not evict people.

Its up to the judges how they deal with the bottom two not the public

Because he's stated before when contestants had been in the bottom two three times (and not four, as Katie has) that the public obviously weren't warming to them, so he was going to send them home. The public obviously aren't warming to Katie, but he seems to just see it as a reason to keep her in for as long as possible.

Katie has outsung the competition each time in the bottom two, therefore she is still there, its NOT rocket science. I still belive katie has the most commecially viable vocal style for current popular music tastes.

She certainly didn't outsing TreyC last week - she slumped on the floor and forgot her words.

I don't think it's a 'rule'. Someone's chances of winnings drastically fall with each subsequent bottom 2 appearance, and it's not unreasonable to say that after their third if not second time, they are just NOT going to win. So with that in mind, it's not really fair to keep bringing them forward if they're not going to win is it? Especially since they'll just end up in the bottom 2 again, and that is something none of them want to face.

Treyc out sung her last week. She also didn't just there and say 'Sod it' and just beg.

No she hasn't. Simon himself said Treyc had the best vocals out of her and Katie last week but still voted her off, apparently because she was the most interesting (obviously in the eyes of the media and not the public who are voting).

Well before Katie said sod it, she sang better than Treyc, both of the performances were weak though. This week Katie sang well, Aiden just well I don't think I can call it singing to be honest.

This week, despite Aidan being the better overall performer, Katie did outsing him on the Sunday night.

last week Simon specifically stated he was voting for who gave th emost viewers "who will people want to see".

Yes katie has failed to really win the public over, but like wagner the still want to watch her.

And even if the judges aren't in on all the background manipulation, it was still obvious thay Loius would go to deadlock - just to avoid teh issue of "it's unfair the judges are keeping her in". ofcom will ultimately prove the phone votes at the end of the season.

I think the general idea of deadlock though is that the judges get to save an act whom they believe deserves to stay in and which the public vote might have been harsh on.I'm not sure how the can justify saving someone who has been bottom 2 four times out of six.

Isnt the fact that she had been in the bottom 3 times, the reason Simon used to kick out Rachel Adedeji?
