I genuinely thought it was but now I'm not so sure at all.

Wagner can't even keep up with the pace of the song. He's a laughing stock now.

How many times will Simon save Katie in the sing-off? He obviously sees a lot of £ signs in her eyes. It's all about publicity and media attention for the show for him and as long as One Direction are safe he doesn't give a rats arse.

Treyc and Aiden are two amazing vocalists, yet we still have Wagner and Katie in the show. Come on.

X Factor is about making money for Talkback Thames (Simon Cowell) and ITV.

Full stop.

It's about the X Factor but sometimes a good singer will win. McElderberry had a decent voice but no X Factor, and his career failure is the result. Leona didn't have the X Factor but her voice did. Leon had neither a good voice or the X Factor so god knows why he won.

But, all three of the above are probably still earning more money than any of the acts they beat, that is all of the success they could possibly hope for.

I think people fancied him more than Rhyddian.

Once it gets down to the last four or five I think it's about vocal ability, but up until then its all about who gets the most ratings and column inches in. Why they bother picking the amount they do I don't know. Theres only ever a handful who are any good, the rest are there for all the wrong reasons.

TreyC is a decent vocalist, but IMO Aiden isn't. People like Aiden cause he got good personality and his performance style is different, but as for vocals he isn't as good as some of the others (excluding Katie and Wagner).

Talent at pop vocals is nothing special though, many many people could do it with the right training and production.

We'll see next week as to what happens, and who actually goes, but it's becoming increasingly unlikely to be what the public are after. The moment the likes of John went out it was very clearly not about vocal ability.

The very fact that Wagner and Waissel are still there suggests it's got nothing whatsoever to do with singing or even performing; but more to do with mass hysteria, insanity, tears and tantrums.

There are likely three/four people that will get signed up from this regardless though, so it's not a total loss. Hopefully one of the singers will win and the show will not be a wasted opportunity for those that deserve it.

Sadly the XFactor is not about vocal talent, it's simply all about a money making machine

It's about who has the X factor .. so not just the singing. That was Pop Idol.

Any talent it discovers along the way is entirely accidental.

No.

Talented people are turned away by producers and never see the "judges" while ridiculously poor vocalists go through to provide good entertainment. Same happens when places for bootcamp are being allocated and at least one place in the live shows will go to someone who's barely a competent vocalist.

It was a singing contest, then a soap opera, and now a vehicle for spiritual enlightenment.

I'm finding this year a far more profound experience than previous ones.

Nopes! It's been more and more evident as the years have gone on. Diana and U-gon (Owen) could not sing for toffee, been downhill ever since.

Indeed. Chico, Jedward, Wagner.

I'm sure there's more

Plainly it's not. It's a self-sustaining three month long publicity machine.
