After Aiden was eliminated tonight over Katie, who has been in the bottom 3 three previous times, I started to think of the most shameful X Factor exits. Maybe not shameful in the sense that the act eliminated was AWFUL, but in the sense that they were cheated of opportunities.

I'd have to say probably the two worst for me would be:
1) Nicolo from this year - knowing you're the least popular out of 16 acts after you performed Bad Romance...probably not a good feeling.

and

2) Lucie last year - This was the incident that made me lose respect for Simon. Lucie was within the top 3 public votes one week, and clearly he wanted Jedward out from the beginning, so for him to go back on his word and send it to deadlock was ridiculous. Also, losing a public vote to Jedward head-to-head would be devastating.

What are some other eliminations you can think of?

Lucie definitely.

Mind, tonight has given that decision a big run for its money. I think they are round about on par.

Olly did last series, we just didn't know about it until the vote totals were announced after the Final because on the night Dannii voted to keep him in the competition.

Agree with the Nicolo and Aiden eliminations.

They were my two favourites in the competition I thought this would be closer to the time Nicolo would be eliminated, rather than week 1! And Aiden's voice I just loved. Didn't think he'd win, but I thought he'd be about 3rd or 4th. He definitely deserved a second chance more than Katie deserved a fourth.

Sorry to be pedantic, but isn't it a sixth chance? Don't forget screwing up the lyrics at the audition and judge's houses!

This one was the most shameful, I don't see any fair reason for Simon to keep Katie for the FOURTH time and send Aiden home

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Everything that happens on XF gets Simon's say so!! He wanted John & Edward through and used Louis to do it for him! Seriously, that's why Louis got the groups. Simon got them this year (and the year Hope and Futureproof, was it? entered) because he invented those stupid bootcamp groups! Honestly, it baffles me how people take this show at face value when we see the same old manipulated crap every year.

Having said that, hated Lucie and loved John & Edward!

I think sending TreyC packing over Katie was shameful. No doubt who the better singer was and it didn't go to deadlock because Katie got less votes.

The reason sending Aiden home (via deadlock, and make no mistake it would NOT have been deadlock if Katie was bottom - much like Jedward and Lucie last year) was shameful was because Katie has been in the bottom 2 more than enough times for them to realise she is unpopular! It's just ridiculous. And that's coming from someone whose least fave contestants were Katie and Aiden.

Neither Aiden nor Katie were/are going to win so they're expendable. Obviously the voting numbers are down this year, so they're needing to show examples of why the public must vote to save people.

They're trying to get everyone to participate in justice, even if participants like Aiden aren't your favourite, you must vote or you don't have any business being enraged.

I think this one simply because SIMON insists on saving Katie against all comers.

She's been dumped in the bottom 2 four times out of 6, how much more evidence does he need that the public dislike her intensely??? (OK for the pedants out there - the VOTING public dislike her).

The whole save Katie at all costs absolutely stinks - but hopefully, now she is safely on the tour and guaranteed her £100k or whatever for that, we can see the back of her next week.

I voted for Paige this week because i thought he needed it more than Aiden did......

Rephrase that to the X Factor viewing public. Clearly they aren't voting.

I think it's so unfair on Aiden, he still had a chance to come back, just like JLS did from the bottom two a couple of years ago.

If he'd wanted to have a chance to come back, then he shouldn't have been so utterly awful in the sing-off.

Katie massively outperformed him when it mattered. So the elimination wasn't shameful. It was totally deserved.
