Yep, she's got pretty bad scoliosis. That can't be a picnic. And nothing ages your face as much as being in pain all the time.

I'm no fan of her programmes on teh telly but if I was her agent I'd be looking for anew job right about now. Why on earth is she in there? She can't cope at all. Poor old sod.

She looks terrible for 51.

take away that long hair and replace it with a grey shorter cut and she would pass for someone in their 70's easy.

Adding to the fact that she really should'nt be there and is like a twittery old crow dos'nt help.

Maybe your rowing back but you did not write what you just made out you did.

Eating a good diet doesn't guarantee your going to look good either, and they are in the jungle and don't have their full make up available. I thought she looked fine by the way.”

The context was quite clear. Discovering that the woman has prematurely aged is a valid enough reason for not being convinced by her nutritional advice.

One of my favourite lines of Wilde "you look weeks younger than that"

I actually used it to someone when they were telling me that they had turned 40 a few days previously "Oh my dear you look weeks younger" Her answer "bitch!"

...or to put it another way, she's only 3 years older than Shaun Ryder. How much do we think he looked after his health in the 90s?

not everyone who looks older than there years is eating a poor diet, on drugs, or smokes. a lot of it is due to genes!!!!
if your parents looked young chances are you will too.
also playing a part is the sun, and the weather in general, cold winds and rain.. so add that to the diet, and genes then you have the answer..

She is what she eats:

Wrinkled Prune like arms, a face like a walnut and a look like she's sucking on a lemon

What I can't get is that she's in the business of dispensing nutritional advice, yet she's a vegan.

Humans are omivores. In the hundreds of millions of years of evolution, our species has never been completely herbivorous. the fact that B12 (only found in animal bodies) is a vitamin for humans is just one of the many things that clearly demonstrates that a vegan diet is not healthy.

Listening to a vegan's opinions on nutrition is like listening to a creationist's opinions on geology.

OMG that's true! I doubt he even remembers the 90s too.

She was born with "ginger" skin which ages a lot more quickly. That is, red headed, freckly skin.

I wonder what Sinitta, 12, has to say about this.

It's not great is it, for a nutritionist to look like death warned up.

I was born with red hair and very pale skin but everyone thinks I'm in my 20s and I'm 38. However, I do avoid the sun like a vampire and that helps.

Looks like "eating well" doesn't make you live longer, it just makes you look as if you have!

It probably helps, but she seems to worry about absolutely everything. Being a nervous wreck can't do much for you.

No, she really does look old. I'm 8 years older than Gillian, and I sure as heck don't look that bad. I don't think it helps, though, if you're a little, tiny, skinny person - slightly larger women with a bit of meat on them (me and Nigella ) tend to look a bit less like plucked chickens because the fat under the skin takes up some of the slack.

I have always heard it said that red haired people age very well. Their hair turns a lovely paler shade and they usually have very good skin. I know a couple of sixty something ladies who would pass for mid forties.

My entire dad's side of the family are red headed *my dad skipped it somehow* and not one of them looks old. My nan is 99!

You have to remember that the Lovely Nigella has had much work done to "maintain" her youthful good looks. Facial fillers, lip implants, botox........

As Bathsheba said, redheads avoid the sun like the plague.

I remember going on a seaside visit with five other young couples and their children. One, who was a redhead sat under an umbrella, his legs covered with a towel, while the rest of us cavorted in the sea.

I'm sure Gillian McKeith's nutritional advice is sound.

We don't know what king of furring is happening inside Gillian and Nigella's arteries. I would guess much for Nigella and not much for Gillian.

Gillian doesn't look that old for 51. I've often seen far worse.
Also, she is small and thin and as a previous poster pointed out, is often in pain because of her back.

This reminds me of my dear old Dad. A lady friend once told him it was her birthday that she was 59. He said "Oh Trish you don't look 59!!" She thanked him and he replied "...you used to!" She took it well though

Sorry but I totally disagree. I am shocked that she is only that age and I am not comparing her to people who have had work done. Whatever the reasons that there might be for her, IMO dramatic premature aging, it is reasonable for people to be less than convinced about her nutritional advice

Not that I'm claiming she knows what she's talking about when it comes to nutrition (she doesn't), but her multi-million pound business is selling vitamin supplements. I'm sure she can get her hands on vitamin B12.

Originally Posted by Romus:

It's not. She doesn't have a clue what she's talking about. She says you should eat chlorophyll because it oxygenates your blood via photosynthesis. As the name implies, photosynthesis is synthesising organic materials from sunlight. If there's any sunlight inside your intestines, then you've got a problem.

She claims that you should eat seeds because a seed contains as much energy as a fully-grown plant. This means that there is as much energy in an acorn as there is in the largest oak tree. If you ate an entire oak tree it would have the same calorific content as eating just one acorn. Apparently all the photosynthesis the tree does doesn't actually synthesise anything and the tree gets larger by magic.

I could go on. She doesn't know anything about nutrition. She has a degree in marketing and international business, and a Masters in international relations. All her other "qualifications" are from non-accredited universities or institutions and can be bought over the internet for around £30 each. She's a businesswoman in the business of selling nutritional supplements. The fact that the best nutritional advice you can get is "eat a wide variety of foods, eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, eat and drink alcohol and fatty foods in moderation" doesn't help shift units.
