What happened to this show?
This is by far the worst season of the show. There is nothing I can hold to that is genuine. It's so manipulative and fake to the millionth degree (from ridiculous, fake over-the-top comments to manipulating the votes).
It's clear last night that the producers have this deal with Katie. I mean 3 different alias, record deal in the US, a webshow, etc. She to me is paid to be there and not because of the news recently, but it really looks that way. Bottom 2 for 4 times in a row and clearly saved by the judges, messing up in her audition and judge's houses but still in. Yesterday, to go up against a contestant who was never been in the bottom 2 and said by Simon as "you will be safe next week", I was completely shocked at that decision. Then he says that "I am voting for what the public wants to see" from Treyc last week when it is clear that the public does not like her. From the 1st audition until now, it really feels like the producers / Simon hired her for the show to create as much drama, controversy and hype this year. And she could care less about winning and more about the limelight and fame. |

I thought series 3 was the worst, personally.

You have to ask yourself why and how it did that?

Especially when you consider what a vacant, non-entity she is.
I don't, and never have thought she didn't have the talent to deserve winning that series ( especially when Robert was sent home )........ but I do think if we are talking manipulation, or fixing for that matter.....series 3 to me is sky high above any other series - including this current one. |

Simon Cowell has promised last year that season VII will be "bigger and better". Therefore it's everywhere, from newspapers to magazines to TV to Facebook, and the "If you don't like it don't watch it" punchline will no longer work. If something is popular it will cheat to get more money, and therefore will get more criticism, but somehow Cowell and his team can turn criticism into ca$h.

Well that's a step too far for me. Yes, the show is manipulative, over-produced trash, but no, Katie isn't in a "secret deal" with anyone. That's not something there's any evidence for.Quote:

The judges used their discretion - you just disagree with them. Doesn't mean there's any conspiracy. Cheryl put her through at the judge's house stage because she was more engaging than the others. I'd probably have done the same thing, to be honest. Quote:

Again, you just disagree with it - that's all.Quote:

Simon was vindicated in that decision when this week it went to deadlock and it turned out Katie was more popular than Aiden. Quote:

And this is different from any other contestant, how?

Whatever the viewing figures are it's obvious that the show has changed a lot. Some may like the change. Others, like me, think the X Factor has become a trashy mix of Big Brother and Britain's Got Talent, and yes, it's manipulated to the nth degree, to the extent that you feel like a complete idiot even for watching it.

Katie is a superb singer quirky and individual and a survivor against mass bullying and as such deserves her place in the top eight. What has happened to this show? Listen to the raucious audience each week and multiply that by racious comments on her nasty in every sense of the word and of hyped media press. That is what is wrong with the show. |
