They still had springbok though - checkout guy said its like a leaner venison, but I still passed up on it. Did get some quail and partridge though as I've not tried cooking them before.
Also saw the velvet crabs - I'd be interested to know what you do with them as they look a bit small to treat like normal crab?”

This all sounds good. I'll have to pop in to my local. I bet they don't have any of it though

I love the idea that we can get reindeer over here now. The (people who live in the countries where reindeer are plentiful - excuse my ignorance) tend to use the entire animal, to respect that it's helping them live - so the hide gets used / meat / milk / (hell i'm sure they'd use the bones for something too!!!).

I'd loooove to try some, but my local Lidl is utter crap and only really sells soup!

I've only tried Venison once and found it a bit rich. Not sure I liked it really. I imagine Reindeer is fairly similar as they are all species of deer.

Didn't see any in my one, but they had goose, pheasant, quail and lobster! And tons of just plain venison.

People seem to forget different countries see different animals as food.

I tried reindeer steaks in Helsinki a couple of years ago and they were delicious!

Just been to my local one and they don't have them in stock

They do have some nice looking stuff though such as Quail, Pheasant, Barbary Duck and Goose.

I'll be trying them over the next month or two.
