When I rewind a live feed the audio goes out of sync and I can't see any way of re-syncing apart from going back to live again.

Does anyone else see this, and does anyone have any fixes for this?

Thanks

Yup. Seems to be a "bug" with Humax/Foxsat. I had posted this problem elsewhere on this site and Graham suggested using the skip back or forward button (you can set the time the skip forward and back jumps at one press). The lip sync is preserved. I now use this all the time.

But you are right, high speed rewind loses lip sync. You can reset the lip sync with a menu option. This leaves a time bar at the bottom of the screen for you to slide until lip sync is corrected.

Thanks fingers - Suppose I can just dial in a number on the timeline too, or does that produce the same issue?

I had all kinds of weird lip synch issues, but the problems were all solved when I took audio out from my TV to my amp, rather than from receiver to amp.

I was just thinking that the recorded version of what you're watching might be lesser quality than live, and therefore more video processing is being done by the TV for the picture, and it gets out of synch with the audio unless you take audio directly from the TV where the delay is factored in.

Unless you have one of the very few, very new TV sets which do otherwise taking the sound out from the TV to the amp means you only get stereo and not surround sound.

Not quite sure I understand your question... but have you tried it?

Yep that would make sense to me too. as it is though it won't work for rewinding a live feed.

If you are watching a recording you can key in on the remote, whilst the video stream is in playback mode, the number of hours: minutes: into a programme. for example press 0023 then ok will take you to 23 minutes into the playback.

If I forget and use rewind instead of the skip buttons I've found that just going to the LipSync setting in the menu reinstates the usual delay.

Menu / TV Setup / LipSync <delay restored> / Exit / Exit does it for me in a couple of seconds flat.

Paul.
