Hi,

I have looked online at some of the ipod repair firms, and asked them this same question, but no one has replied, so asking it here.

The screen on my 2nd Gen ipod touch over the actual touch screen is badly cracked /stared. The bottom third of the screen is has a white/ bluish tint over the icons.

When turned on, you can see the icons on the start screen, Then about 10 to 15 seconds later the screen goes to white all over with purple/white lines.

Some times of you are quick enough you can click on an app icon and it will open up, but always pretty quickly it will revert to the white/purple screen.

leave it half an hour, turn it on and the same thing happens.

I am considering sending it off to one of the postal firms that do repairs, they have a list saying screen repair ( say £49.00) and LCD repair ( say £35).

Does anyone know if my problem is just the touch screen or is the actual LCD damaged as well ? ( keeps reverting to white/purple)

Also anyone used any of the online repair firms and can recommend a good one?

There are tutorials on Youtube that show you how to do it yourself the parts can be bought cheaply from ebay
