Can't decide between an iPod touch or iPhone?

I've £250 to spend, that will buy me either a second hand 16gb iPhone 3G or a new 32GB iPod Touch 4G.

I don't make a lot of calls but then I like the idea of sat nat and being able to use twitter etc when out and about and not being reliant on WiFi, but the the phone would be second hand and could die at any moment where as I'll have a years warranty with the iPod.

I can't decide, any advice?

what do you want it for mainly. have you already got a phone?

are you happy to pay the monthly phone costs for a iphone.

I decided to go with the iTouch as I don't make many calls either (poor signal in this area). It's a great product and while it would be nice to be able to connect at more or less anytime anywhere, I couldn't justify the additional expense of the phone and contract.

You could get a pay as you go MIFI dongle , then your ITouch will function pretty much like an Iphone

Same here - don't make many calls so bought Ipod touch - use it for birdwatching - many free or very cheap apps available.
Also use it on public transport as an mp3 player to silence the noise of the plebs.
Fantastic gadget that is more useful than you can imagine.

The beauty of the iPhone is it is allways with you. the monthly costs on pay and go are £10 + calls
you can get sim contracts to run an iPhone at £15 per month

if the iphone is unlocked make sure the sim you get is on vodaphone masts....

... get the iphone.... its not about phone use... it is about data....... almost everywhere
