Help I washed my my phone!
Yeah, I put my phone in the washing machine by accident of course.
Anyway, after drying it out (the rice trick) it does actually turn on but it won't go past the o2 welcome screen. Could this be because the sim card is ruined? If so, can I just get a replacement from o2 with my existing credit and bolt-ons still on it? It's an LG GW520 on o2 payandgo if that helps at all. Cheers. |

It won't be the sim, you could soak the sim for hours and it wouldn't make any difference. You've damaged the phone.
The best thing is to try not to turn it on until it's totally dry. You could try and new sim, but the chances are minute that it's the sim. Usually it would say invalid sim card rather than not get past the o2 screen. Dry it out some more and see if it boots up properly but it's not sounding good. |

They have been known to come back to life.
Also clean the SIM contacts. Of course you can easily test the Sim in another phone. |

You can try the phone without sim, if the phone is ok it will show you can make emergency calls only. But I am afraid it's the phone not the sim that does not work.

I thought that may be the case but was hanging on to that last bit of hope. Will try and dry it some more.
Thanks *adds new phone to christmas list* |
