Tabloids, Magazines, Newspapers?
how many people here actually believe what they read in all of these? or do they only want to believe those that are dissing people they dislike? i cant imagine how any fully grown adult could believe the crap that they come up with, but after reading threads and comments on here i realise just how much these tabloids influence people on a day to day basis

How do you know someones opinion you read here isnt their own opinion? You just assume because its similar to a news story you read that THEY copied the paper.
Personally i think Katie is an overdramatic so and so and many other things. I didnt get this opinion from any paper. Nor do I get my opinions on anything else in life from a peper. Ok, maybe a paper shares my view and i accept that but it still doesent mean im being influenced. |

I agree! There are a lot of people who believe negative things written in the press which is convenient to them if they don't like the person! But as soon as there is negative press about the same peoples favourites, it's obviously made up!
Obviously, not everyone sees it this way thankfully! |

I'd bet mt bottom dollar that the makers of the show and the print media collude to plan/write the articles 2/3 weeks in advance. Wouldn't surprise me if print media side actually had a modicum of influence over the general tack/direction as opposed to simply being fed the Syco line.

Erm, the "stories" in the paper come from the CowellCorp publicity machine anyway, for the vast majority.

I think a lot of articles have like a sliver of truth to them.
For example For "Katie thinks Cheryl spends too much time with Cher and ignores her other acts" read Someone overheard Katie say "I wonder where Cheryl is this morning, I'd quite like to talk to her" |

how do you no that? i'm not having ago, i was just wondering were you get that information
![]() Unless the celeb stories involve actual investigative journalism (Mahzer Mamoud being a great example of one of the few real tabloid reporters) they will generally come from either PR agencies (think Max Clifford or at least someone much like him in a George from Asda suit), the TV production companies themselves or Press Association (via the above). Very recently (the last two years) Twitter has found itself a "credible" news source for the papers too, though we must remember that a celebrity Twitter feed is often also a cog in the grand PR machine. It's a waste of money having reporters to find real dirt when we all put up with non-stories masquerading as hot gossip that the papers get drip-fed for free. It's just the 21st century newspaper business model, as it suits both the celebs and the media tycoons. |
