Download the video from youtube to your hard drive. Then use a DVD converter such as ConvertXtoDVD (requires serial key) to convert it into DVD format. Then burn to disc.

i will try ,but only issue now is i have dicided to take the whole lot to a pc shop & get them to look at it. my key interests at the moment is to upload the 1st 2 eps of eddie stobarts recently broadcast shows & put to disc & play on tv. & then hence finish the disc off .trouble is the current 4 eps on it does not read on the pc. the other programme is DAs 1st life recent broadcast on BBC one which i will probably upload off BBC iplayer 1 ep i am missing on that one. antthing else will be classic tv programmes & start up ,for general interest.

I would highly recommend getting rid of Real Player. It is a known crap piece of software which is just bloatware.

Using Firefox as your Internet browser, and then an add-on such as Download Helper should work.

Umm you realise uploading and downloading are two different things. Uploading is to send a video to youtube. Download is to get a video from youtube.

Your posts made me unsure that you understood this.

If uploading is taking long, you need a connection with a faster upload speed. The Virgin Media 50Mb product is now getting a 5Mb upload speed. (I'm on 20Mb with the 2Mb upload). Expect it to take time.

You are with tiscali but you have Sky tv. It might be cheaper to get your broadband from Sky as well as the tv.

I use DVDVideoSoft Free Studio or JDownloader to download videos in high quality.

well my pc crashed the other day & have had to reload everything back in realplayer has gone back in but used it only to download the videos from youtube to in order to burn to dvd disc, not sure yet if that will work?

you might be right ,i was unsure .my aim is to put chosen videos to disc so that i can watch on my main tv. yes do have tiscali & sky HD but prefer not to use the two together, though one would argue it would be cheaper, mayby so ,but its a choice i made.where i live there is no way i will be able to get virgin media or anything upto 20MB of speed i am in a rual area ,these are forgotten areas.going back to you tube is it best to add videos to a que list then burn them off?

some of these i have already re-installed including that one,as far as i am aware of. just need now a step by step guide to downloading a video from youtube to a dvd disc to watch on tv

You're seriously trying to upload 3+GBs to YouTube? Why not just upload in MEPG4 format? Maybe YouTube's stopped the uploading of such a big amount of data from one person.

Emails aint the most technical person around (no offence) but i'd guess that ripping 4.3-9gb of data and shunting it to youtubes servers to slap into their preferred format will take probably 1-2 days assuming theres no complications and will probably max the upload side of their broadband and thus kill it for any other use at best

but looking at that error message i'd say two things....1...they need to be able to spell available,2 youtube has probably put a stop to it to save them having to spend time/money/effort for people to upload copyright materials only for them to have wasted all that money on bandwidth/server time etc to delete it a few hours later due to a DMCA claim

oh dear oh dear oh dear ok i made spelling errors but you knew what i mean't? next thing ok hands up i am not always clear on what you tube handles but noticed how YT hand different video sizes ie some in full video others in parts ,how this is managed when uploading i am not sure. also i would not make claims to anyone copyrighting my work when i have freely allowed to be copyed by others. others i would assume do the same with there videos allow others to copy etc though some are protected. i'm off line for the night

Well you need to rip the video from the dvd first to the hard drive then its best to get a video editing piece of software and use it to just cut/paste the "peace" you want so you can check its fine before spending hours uploading it

There are free pieces of software to do it but like most things its down to personal choice and technical ability
