Poor woman, she's gonna get crucified on this programme lol! She will soon realise this was not a good career move...but it can't hurt - she was going nowhere fast anyway!

Yeah, adding a winking eye to the end of the comment made it funny ... or not!

I thought that she might have scurvy as a result of her strange dietry beliefs

It's been bent through the weight of the guilt from being a fraud selling snake oil.

To be fair to her, I know how spinal deformities can equal horrendous pain. I don't have scoliosis but I do have constant spinal pain and have a friend who has severe scoliosis. It's the only thing about her life she's not exaggerating!

No wonder she went ballistic when she heard Lembit ring the bell!

So there is something to be said for eating bacon sarnies, full english breakfasts and drinking loads of alcohol then

She's faking it btw, I saw the clip of her pulling down her top while she was supposed to be fainted.

Scared my arse, she's playing a game and the public are falling for it.

Shame on her for picking a genuine condition (phobias) suffered by many people and using it to gain popularity.

How would the public feel if she pretended to suffer from MS, Parkinsons, Altzeimers, or any other infliction their family members suffer from

Vote her out

This is one thing Gillian is not making up,scoliosis of the spine, you would not wish it on anyone
It is so evident just looking at her that she has a permanent curvature of the spine.

Totally unneccessary comment. It is an obvious problem she has. She might have made other things up but that doesnt excuse bitchy, bullying comments.

Her back is really freaking out my older son who was born with scoliosis and has one shoulder blade noticeably higher than the other. He keeps saying "is that how I'm going to end up"..

Tell him not to worry, I have it and had surgery when I was 14 to correct it (I'm in my mid 40's now) and apart from a rather fetching scar down the middle of my back you wouldn't know. Nor has it stopped me from doing sports etc
feel free to ask me more if you want

Well he is 16 now and has had a massive growth spurt to 6ft 1- have taken him to the doctors to be checked out a few times and they have just said that it is mild and shouldn't need surgery! He's a bit of a hypochrondriac though (no idea where that comes from ) and is always complaining about it. Glad that yours worked out ok

Sounds like it's all under control then
Gillian McKeith is an extreme example of the condition and one that would not occur nowadays I suspect given the treatment options available. Get your son to build his core strength up which can only help counteract any imbalances although I'm sure, given your username he's already a fitness fanatic

Scoliosis is treatable, and has been for some time. I have a relative of Gillian's age who was treated as a child and has been fine ever since. So far as I'm aware, in most cases the treatment is curative. So Gillian may have HAD scoliosis, but unless Scotland was extremely backward in the 1970s, she will have been treated for it. Perhaps she has bad posture.
