No. I guessed she probably had scoliosis, while watching her on a TV programme. People with this condition used to be called "hunchbacks".

The young daughter of a friend of mine had to wear a back brace for a very long time to correct this condition. Unfortunately for Gillian, hers was missed by incompetent medicos. (They spotted a slight curvature, but there was no follow up or treatment).

Her bones are failing due to lack of nourishment.
You are what you eat and all that.
I think it used to be call rickets.

It depends on a lot of factors if it is successfuly treated. I think it always leaves you with a spine of varying degrees of curvature.
