Do you reckon?
I mean, on one hand, it wasn't criticism. It was recognition. They didn't say "your eyes are BAD because they are large, like an owl's!" They said "your eyes are large, like an owl's." Lots of people like large eyes. There are threads on this very board fawning over how hypnotic they are. They never criticised her looks, they
commented on her looks. Miles upon miles upon
light years away from an insult.
But secondly, dunno about you, but as far as I'm concerned that's the
first thing I'd think about when applying for the Apprentice. I've considered applying for TV programmes - including the Apprentice, even - and the first thing I thought was "ooh, my face would be plastered all over the tellybox." On the week I'd (inevitably!) be fired, I know damn well that I'd have my daft mug pasted across London like I'm Big Brother. I can't say I'd be surprised by it.
Not saying that it's a
good thing. I don't condone shallow criticisms. But it's a fact of life. People form opinions. Almost instantly. I'm sure that I'd have a small fanclub, and then a much larger contingent of people who couldn't stand the sight of my smug little beardy face grinning up at them. It's just life on a larger scale.
She knows what she's got herself into. Receiving an owl's not stressful - it's not even insulting. People like owls. And Sandeesh's eyes, at that.
