Why do they need to have a supposed funny person on the panal each week? i never really laugh. Ruby Wax is the worst but with the guy this week we had to put up with Carol Vorderman's appalling fake sounding laughter every time the 'funny' guy came out with something dead 'funny'

Is that the Yorkshire in North Wales? She lived in Prestatyn from the age of 3 weeks

Maybe she takes two vowels from the North, one from the South and five consonants from the West?

The funny guy's name is Andy Parsons. And I must admit I was somewhat taken aback by his rather poor material, emphasised even more by Carol's mad laughing. Ruby was alright, as far as I can remember.

It's not always a bad thing to have a funny person, even though they sometimes do disappoint. But this is because it's expected of them to be funny and in their natural work environment they're standing alone on a stage, while sitting there and being able to make witty observations within context of what's being said at the table, given that the context is not as predetermined and preprepared as an episode of Mock the Week would be, is a lot more difficult. However, Andy's input was pretty disappointing. He should've abided by the golden rule of the sole comedian on a panel show and that is: If you don't have anything funny to say, then don't say anything at all.

Nah, the North Wales connection means she'd have way more consonants than vowels. At the very least she'd double up the l's and d's

I don't mind Andy Parsons

Admittedly, I didn't watch the your fired show, so can't comment on how good/ bad he was/ is.

You guys have no sense of humour. I thought Andy Parsons was quite funny especially when he was taking the piss out of Stuart and his method of just picking a number out of his head rather than doing calculations. I also like Ruby Wax last week making fun of Alex claiming to be able to 'clean' influenza and then coming out with "by the way, my bread basket has herpes, can you clean that for me?"

I don't see why You're Fired has to be a serious discussion programme, I much prefer it as a funny program and a chance to mock the weak and mock the contestants. This is why I preferred Adrian Chiles, he was much better at doing that.

Indeed, I prefer Chiles too. He wasn't a comedian, so he didn't try too hard to be funny which can be a plus sometimes. It felt like a more serious show back then, and I preferred it that way to be honest. It's turning into a parody of itself now.

I think a lighter 'comedy' version works well this series as its so long since the events happened.
I'd struggle to justify what I did last week let alone a year ago!

I know exactly what you mean by "fake sounding laughter" ....it's maddening isn't it!! I was thinking exact same listening during show and wondering what would happen if someone really did make her laugh cos i honestly do not know if i have ever seen her genuinely laugh. Peopl eoften see this as arrogant behaviour but imo it is the opposite, she is so desperate to be accepted.

Nothing wrong with the comedian every week as long as its not Ruby Wax or Trevor Nelso (yeh i don't know why either)

what utter rot. the show is miles better and the new presenter has more energy, is funnier and has a greater passion for the show

I'm not say it isn't 'funnier', but that's not really why I started watching the Apprentice years ago. Back then, each laugh we got from it was unexpected and special. Nowadays, it seems that quite a few candidates are in the show for their comic value and the fact that a comedian now interviews them after they're fired sort of...ruins the surprise, if you see what I mean. You already start to look out for things that will be later mocked in "You're Fired" during the actual show. It should be renamed "Mock the Candidates".

The format for your fired pundits is

"Industry Expert"
"Celeb fan"
"Comedian fan"

That week Ruby Wax was the comedian, Trevor was the celeb fan. He's been on several times before. Trevor also has experiance in voice-over work and radio so was sorta relevant to the task.

Yeh fair enough, i was aware he had been on before just threw me cos he was sat at end and i do my best to blank out Ruby.

I find you often need the comedians to highlight the glaring errors the contestants made and some of the quite bizarre decision making processes that go on.

It's not utter rot, it's someone elses just-as-valid-as-yours opinion. I too preferred Chiles at the helm and found the show as funny if not funnier when he was presenting. I found Adrian to be more incisive than Dara. And I disagree that Dara has more passion for the show, he just has a different presenting style to Chiles.

Andy has worked with Dara on "Mock the Week" and is trouser-wettingly funny at times. as somebody said, they have a business person, a journo/celebrity fan and a comedian so as to make the prog light-entertainment.

it's meant to be ironic and amusing at this stage - giving the fired candidates a chance to present themselves a bit better without the pressure. Sandeesh came over as very likeable and her stance on not bringing Jamie into the boardroom was very ethical. perhaps she realised that she would rather be herself than enter a game-playing blame-culture.

I absolutely agree with you. Me and my hubby sat watching it last night and the supposedly funny guy just made us look at each other in amazement. We've found this on other weeks so spot on thread!

She does that fake laughing thing on every show she appears in, and it's incredibly annoying! Especially when she continues to do it while someone else is talking!

At least your comedians work! We had one on the Irish version this week, a supposed comedienne: never even cracked a smile the whole show! If you're going on as a funny guy/gal, then I think people would expect, if not the odd joke, at least a smile!
