Sorry, but I'm too furious that a member of the current government thinks they've got time to do this, I can't get any good will for the Special at all.

Like any SCD, I wouldn't write off the line-up by just looking at it - I certainly didn't know about Vince Cable, for example, until people here yesterday mentioned that he did a lot of ballroom.

Barrowman is likely to be good if DOI's any indicator of his dance skills, and I suspect Fern Britton will put in a rather good performance too. Ronni and June might end up being the comedy acts, but they do it well enough in their day jobs so I'm not unduly bothered about that.

The best bit is I'll be in New Zealand when it's shown anyway so I won't have to find out how wrong I was

Vince Cable has always said he would love to do the show but would never have time , this is a good compromise and I think it's a good thing to have new faces and use the special as chance for those who have turned SCD down due to too many commitments .

I really don't like JB but he will at least throw himself into it and June Brown is a delightful lady and I sure she will give it a good go.

Maybe it's really been Ronni all this time in an Ann Widdecombe suit. It would kill two birds with one stone - have Ann in for this series and train Ronni for the Christmas Special.

I agree with it being a poor line-up, but I don't think Barrowman will win. He's partnered with Kristina who hasn't had much luck, and Vince (who has done some of his medals) is partnered with Erin who's ballroom is immense. I think he'll win.

I think this reposte deserves a POTD nomination.

Vince Cable goes to my dance school, I know his Ballroom is pretty good. I read somewhere yesterday his dances are American Smooth and Foxtrot and he's with Erin, which all sounds perfect for him.

As far as his time is concerned, he fitted in a lot of dancing anyway, he will probably just substitute SCD training for what he did before. Why shouldn't politicians have any free time??

Sorry, I've been just as scathing about line-ups for the main show in previous years when Darren, Lilia, Ian and Matt were still involved. I wouldn't want to watch this show no matter who was partnering that lot.

As for 'loudly' selling tour tickets (if one post on a relevant thread can be deemed to be 'loud'), I think you'll find that trying to sell them quietly is rather ineffective.

If any of those who don't like the lineup get Christmas special tickets and don't want them, you know who to call.
