You've just saved me starting a thread. I don't understand the Lembit hate. Some of the celebs keep calling him a bum hole but I'm not seeing it.

Because he was a politician, he is annoying in a dopey sort of way but basically harmless, being an ex politician chasing celebrity makes you a pretty easy target though.

I don't get it either! Okay he was an MP, big deal. I can understand people being annoyed over the expenses claims but he wasn't one of the worst culprits and paid the money back.

Same here. I don't live in the UK so not familiar with him, but I can't understand why he is annoying so many people. He seems pleasant enough to me.
