Hi all,
I've been lurking on the forum for along time, but never actually got round to registering before.
However, I now need some help. So here I am.
A couple of years ago I bought a Sony eReader (PRS-505) and synched it up with my laptop (Sony Vaio if that has a bearing). All was great and groovy and I bought some lovely books (from the WH Smith ebook site) that were authorised via the Adobe Digital Editions thingy to be associated with that particular reader/laptop combination.
Jump forward to recently. The reader stopped working after I dropped it for a fifth time (quite resiliant for the first four, but I guess I just pushed my luck) and the laptop was stolen.
I now have new reader (PRS-650) as it would have cost £176 to repair the old one and the new one only cost £199 - Which is crazy but somewhat off topic - and a new laptop (another Vaio becuase I like them).
My problem is that the ebooks that I bought under the old pairing do not now 'work' under this new set up. I try to open them in the Adobe Library software and it tells me that the computer isn't authorised to preview the book and it won't let me transfer them to the reader.
WHSmith couldn't help when I asked them for assistance - Although they were great about telling me how to buy new books and install them - and Adobe just kept bouncing me round different departments without every really telling me anything.
I was hoping that somebody out there might have had a similar experience and can tell me how to de-register the old kit and register the new stuff.
Thank you for any aid you might have.
