Apart from the obvious why did this anti-social loner, who everyone love cos he took nuff drugs decide to bring his darkness on this show?

He is a grumpy old sod - bit like me really - probably why I like him.

I was dissapointed when Johnny Rotten left the jungle as it had been such a long wait to find out what Johnny Rotten was all about and when we started to get a glimpse, he left.

I feel I know everything I need to about this guy so I won't be sad to see him leave.

Yes but you're not bringing down the entertaiment with your loner ways.

I'd rather Seans subtle ways than that of hungry hungry hammond.

Yep, me too. I like his dry humour. He's also remarkably self-aware and assertive. I think he's coping with all the characters pretty well.

Can't stand him, never could.

I've just read an interview with his wife where she says he's still 'ultra-cool'.

He never has been.

Seems to me that ITV have seen an early favouritism for him and have decided to throw him to the wolves against their big diamond, Alison Hammond.

So it will be swim or drown for Ryder from what I can see.

ITV will use Hammond against all of them to achieve maximum phone votes. That's why she's been put in. She was voted out of BB for being loud and annoying. I'm sure ITV will use that to good measure to "set up" other celebs, whilst protecting her.

In fact, we seen the results tonight already.............Shaun as a moody loner who doesn't like new people...and especially a bubbly entertaining generous person like Alison.

Shaun Ryder achieved fame off his own back with talent long before his appearance on this show. Alison Hammond on the other hand is just an annoying gobby wannabe who talked her way onto that shitty excuse for a programme 'Big Brother', and never in a million years could be considered a celebrity. She's the cheeky cheerful brummie from hell.

I agree. I much prefer his dry wit to the screaming 'look at me' attention seekers.

I'm the age group who was there when Madchester was at it's peak so have always had a soft spot for the likes of Shaun and Ian Brown.

Spot on. How she became successful, I'll never know. She was voted out of BB after a fortnight and she'd managed to annoy the hell out of the BB audience long before that. IIRC, she used to be a holiday rep and that's about what she is good for, being loud, irritating and 'in your face'.

IMO, loud doesn't = entertaining.

Shaun FTW

I don't think Shaun dislikes her particularly, he is just suffering from a bit of cabin fever. He hasn't been rude to her exactly. I like them both. Alison is a good person at heart, and she deserves her celebrity through this morning. In fact pre BB she was an actor and had a decent part in Doctors just before she went in the BB house, so she does have some credibility.
