I really like it. Everything you could want (apart from a camera). You could wait untill the n-gage qd comes out cause you dont need to switch the phone off to switch cards and no need to speak on the phone funny. However, The n-gage qd does not have a radio or mp3.
You can also get tonnes of free n-gage games, java games and gameboy colour games.
Just ask if you need to know anything else

with an n-gage you have to speak on the side of the phone (The top of the phone if your playing games). You just cant make/recieve calls in public using an n-gage (thats why i got the gx30). You could use the supplied handsfree set or maybe bluetooth.

I had an N-Gage a while back, it was a good phone for the price (features wise) but the having to talk using the side of the phone was awful! Even the curious or odd looks you get if you wear a Bluetooth headset in public are better than being seen in public talking on an N-Gage!

LOL! Why don't people just accept that holding phones or wearing headsets are the new technology and stop giving people funny looks?

I had a Sony Ericsson HBH-30 as my first Bluetooth headset. It was quite large, I don't really know how to describe it but it was quite long, which meant the headset extended from your ear to very near to the opening of your mouth. This of course meant it was highly visible and I really did get a few curious looks if I wore it in public.

Now I have a Jabra BT200 which is much smaller and more compact, I don't get nearly as many curious looks, although perhaps people know more about what a Bluetooth headset is and how to identify one.

So next step is one of those Bluespoon Digital Silver/Gold/whatever "headsets" that pretty much sit on your ear and aren't much larger than your ear. Although people might think I've got a large bug on my ear, or something! Though the Bluespoon's seem to be extremely expensive for what they are.

---
I'm really in 2 minds about Bluetooth headsets, yes, although I have 2 I mean, they are fantastic for having long conversations hands-free without having to have a cable trailing down to your pocket. I have had long conversations using Bluetooth headsets and they really make life much easier. On the other hand it's one more thing to charge and carry around. And of course if you have a Bluetooth headset in your ear you can't play music from an iPod or PCDP

i know its a gaming fone and used mainly for playing games, and having the ability to make calls at the same time, but i will be honest...... i seen too many BETTER fones out there, and i personally wouldnt have a nokia N-GAGE given to me, let alone pay for one... for one thing , if you dont know where to download games from, then its like 20-30 quid a game, and even if you do get to download a game, to store them you need to buy extra memory cards........ i give it a big thumbs down....

You can get much better PHONES for that price, i.e. the excellent Nokia 3100 in Choices for £59.99. Or the Sagem My-V65 if you shop around.

well, is it contract or pay and go????

if pay and go, he dont have that much to choose from, but tell him to look in the free ads or something, might get something better for that price...... you have to be careful tho, cos you need to know if it works first before parting with money, tho i know carphone warehouse and others alike do recon fones which do work for discount prices...... alot of people think they are fones that have been damaged and repaired, when infact 90% of them are acually returns within 28 days cos the customer dont like the fones..... absolutly nothing wrong with the handset.... i would tell him to try there!!!!
