Two Dances

As we are down to 7 couples next week does that mean that they will be doing two dances?

No idea to be honest..........this series they have done no group dances either apart from on the reveal show......so getting off very lightly.

The dances left for (Kara and Artem as an eg) are:

Rumba
Samba
Jive
Tango
Waltz
Viennese Waltz

Three ballroom, three latin. Don't really see how they can not do two dances next week to be honest...

I think I remember reading on another thread that they start on two dances when they are down to five couples, but I may be wrong.

That's what they did last year IIRC, or was it last 4 couples?

Either way I think 7 couples is too many for switching to 2 dances, so I doubt it will be next week. They could potentially keep a 'new dance' round for the final - each couple doing a dance they haven't done before as well as their favourites.

Slightly complicated this year as we will have 5 couples in the semi with a double elimination so it may be more.

The thing is as TylerTango has pointed out unless they start next week then all the couples who get to the end will not do one of the dances. I think it's wrong if they miss one of the standard dances. If say someone misses out the Samba or Gavin doesn't do the Rumba then that could be perceived to be unfair.

I guess another alternative is for them to do 3 dances in the Semi Final.

Well 3 dances in the semi could be an option..........its over 2 days with a double elmination so could easily be 3 dances each.

That's what I was thinking. There will be a lot of filler if it's 2 shows with just 5 couples dancing once.

They should do a group dance for their second dance as all couples are marked in groups in the competition world. Plus dancing in a group brings different elements into play and makes a change for the viewers. Would be interesting to see them all doing a jive or foxtrot. Then you would really be able to compare.

Yes, having the two dances soon should really start to sort the contenders out !

well there is a couple of weeks left because its a 5 person semi final which means a double elimination on the semi. it will be a tense week !

I assume there will be a group dance in the next few weeks as the couple number reduces rather than going to 2 dances per couple.

I would not expect 3 dances for the semi, if it's over two days then they can do a different dance on each day, so only need 2 dances which then helps those who make the final more ready for the heavy training schedule which is needed for at least 3 dances in the final.

Whenever they do the two dances, I hope the lindyhop doesn't make a reappearance.
