He looked terrible. Don't know what his singing was like because someone phoned me while he was on.

It made me wonder if they'd brought in Tracy Emin to 'styl'e him, as he'd have made a perfect accessory to her 'Unmade Bed' prizewinning effort.

Maybe it wasn't the right kind of vest and the cut of it wasn't quite right. Along with the baggy trousers it all made him look dumpy instead of lean and fit.

As I said before, I don't think any of them this year are any good but I've been voting for Matt because I felt sorry for him for his story. He seems to have been through a lot and could do with a break.
His performance last night has only reinforced this for me. It was by far his worst and probably the worst of the night (given that Wagner's never going to be expected to give a good vocal or flowing performance) andI cringed for him during and after and voted for him. The way he is being criticised for it has made me vote for him again today. Good luck to him. |

Jealousy of what? A poor guy who was put in an outfit that did nothing for his stocky, squat build and revealed flaws that would probably be best kept covered under clothes if attempting to be pushed as some sort of sex symbol or heartthrob, and who was given a song and performance that neither his voice nor stage skills could handle? I see more reason for sympathy than jealousy.
![]() Its funny - reading all these obsessive threads slagging Matt and his performance and The Vest of Glory anyone just wandering by would assume it was a total disaster that everyone hated. Just going by the sheer noise. And yet - he's second on the DS poll for performance of the evening. Could it be that... alot of people liked it after all???

I like Matt but his posture is odd. It's like he's constantly shrugging his shoulders. Maybe he needs a good massage because it's making him look very tense
