That was weird....

Anyway, Matt's styling did kind of look like he should have been sat on a couch drinking beer and eating pies, but he did manage to make it look acceptable.

Someone obviously instructed him to have a growl in his voice, which I think he took a bit too literally. No-one can say he isn't versatile now though.

I will give Matt a little more votes just in case is a doble eviction t

Props to Matt for being different tonight, but that vest was just so wrong. He'll be safe I'm sure but has to learn from that mistake.

But from now on in, I want more Matt centric song choices - apart from FT, he's not had a great choice for 4 weeks.

Will they sing 2 songs next week - normally they do in week 8, but 7 acts left that's 14 songs.

Shame I was so looking forward to 2 songs from Matt

It could have been worse. I was surprised that Simon criticised the vest when as I recall it was his idea to incorporate the hairy chest flash into Olly's "Come Together" performance last year. And shows a lot of chest himself!

Matt only had the guns out. Dannii seemed to hint that it was Matt's final decision to go out like that so at least he was somewhat comfortable with it.

I dont think it will be repeated, he looked sheepish on ITV2, a tad embarassed.

We'll have to quiz Ali.

would have prefered a Black vest..But if you see some of his photos at music festivals he is often in a white vest...Performance wise he has really improved

I love the performance because like SC said he like the vocals nothing wrong with them. I think Dannii and Cheryl wanted to see those guns.

We just have to vote all his fans on FB and Twitter loved his perfomance.

I think SC may be worrying that Matt is stealing the female vote from 1D based purely on the shallow reason - being hot!

I think so moving around the stage well done Matt.I have just listened to his song again and loving it even more now.

EDIT: Mary has just been added so I guess Matt's will be on the way even though it will be last. Also been enjoying Robert Plant, Mavis Staples and Adele on the repeat of Later. Some rubbish band though....

well gang welcome to part 7 (you know that's more than Joe and he won - last year!!!) which I think is more to do with how much we talk than anything

I cannot get the download yet (or any others appart from Paige) anyway just watched it all back again including the judges comments and I think it was fab - Louis is a bit of a prude about blatant sexuality unless its camp so I'm not surprised he didn't like it - the others were all good Cheryl really stuck up for him and Simon said the vocals were fantastic

We always knew that the "I love his falsetto" brigade might not like it but the obective was to demonstrate a more "manly" side to his performance and I think he blew the "girly" label out of the water in pretty spectacular style - this competition is a marathon - he can sing something different next week now. Just need to vote (have done 10 times - and probably will another 10 tomorrow)

The panel on Xtra Factor said they'd been waiting for a performance like that. So did the caller in to Danni. I loved it and the more I see it the more it grows on me.

BTW is this the very first Sunday there hasnt been a Destroy Matt! front page?

Right now I am actually getting quite annoyed and suspicious. I wanted to download the track from itunes before heading off to bed- the others have been up there for an hour and there is still no sign of Matt's.

Don't know what to make of this evening

When I realised Matt was on first my heart sank, and even more so after Louis commented, but then I realised that all the favs seemed to be set up a little tonight, whilst Katie was pimped. I don't feel it's as bad as I first thuoght but neither do i feel that heis safe. Looking back, I feel he was probably one of the best tonight though.
