I dont think the vest was wrong. Maybe the shock of the visual change with the vocal change was too much for some people but he worked them both IMO.

Seeing him was quite a shock, i felt a bit embarassed for him at first (i got over it though ) , and yes thank god he didn't indulge the crowd with the "guns" thing, dude kept his dignity, i love him for that.
As far as the singing goes, at first the "growling" parts and then going back to this normal voice then back again to growling felt a bit weird because his natural voice has this hint of vulnerability and i didn't think it meshed well, but i've listened to it about 7 or 8 times and i feel better about it.
All in all i really liked it, i'm super pleased that it went as it did and that he was finally able to rock it out

If he wanted to show some mucles I would have gone for an open tight shirt with the sleeves all rolled up just over the shoulders though, with a tight v neck tee (yes i've said tight twice )

What worries me a little is if he gets to do a "girly" (hate that word) song again and gets flack for it.

So that's my 0.2p for what it's worth, i don't know if it's "allowed" to voice doubts or concerns, but to me appreciation means honesty, and i can't help but getting nervous when i suspect something might be wrong.

Kind of liked it, thought the opening was forced but he got into his stride. It was always going to be a problem getting a guy with Matt's range to sit inside a song with a verse inhabiting no more than half an octave but he did well. In my opinion there was no need for the strain he put on his voice with the growly stuff -- and it took away some of the tension implicit in the song because instead of feeling the impulse of the rhythm you were drawn to the effort of the vocal. But it's a detail. He deffo gets better on the relisten. Not as good as his Elton J the week before, IMO, but still I thought best of the night. From the middle through to the end was strong. How many of the others could build up to that? There wasn't that awful moment where you have the cheesily obvious modulation (poor Paije) -- he just jumped up / off the scale. Athletic, no?

Good evening everyone who's still up!! wkends aren't good for me on net, but my sky reception went during week (not back yet ) so had to watch whole thing on youtube tonight..suffice to say i watched all except the man W!

Well Matt Matt Matt..what can I say...you know how to play the game..U are sex on legs, could not take my eyes off the biceps, love the vest (real men wear vests ) and the moves on you..work it

Watched it with a friend who is well aware of my love of Matt, we were dubious of his vocal for the 1st 50secs, but the rest was outstanding, and high standard as usual!!

Loved it overall, and finally listened to it without watching (practcally impossible without watching the mesmirising Matt!) and it sounds even better the more you listen to it..he takes a chance with the "growling", and IMO it shows a versatility; altho not Matt's personal, individual, lovely, emotional stamp, is pure sexy/raunch, and will draw in the vote guys!

She wasn't as bad as usual I have to admit but stil so fake. I watched her first auditions and then the one at the judges houses - both times "forgetting" her words. The first one is almost scripted as she makes a hash of the song and has to chose another one. wonder when we will find out what she has on Simon?

Agree he seemed forced, but he made it so easy to shift up a gear in the middle, and change the thrust of the song to his beautiful (ever present) falsetto, and move up to the end of the song with ease! (I have no musical capabilities whatsoever, I just enjoy listening to fab vocals, and good music-preferrably played with instruments

My next fave was definitely Mary, promise I'm not being biased, but that is the best I've heard from her in weeks, she sounded & looked amazing-brilliant!
