I thought Mary was good on the night much better than the other females, I have listened to Matt several times now and for me his most comfortable performance yet. Mary is no threat to his votes and cant see any of the others coming anywhere near him.

I agree Nikki..Mary will not win, nowhere near it ( and i'm from Ireland, where most of the voters should originate! but i hear different murmers) but I thought she was the best after Matt, in that she looked really good, she moved around the stage, had a bit of soul to her rhythm & vastly increased in confidence

Matt sounds really good-fantastic even, when you listen without watching.. he's got an intelligent understanding of how the tone of a song goes, and how to work his own version into it-if that makes sense? well in other words he rocked the thing

Just got home after a night out with the "girls" ( well, when I say girls............... I mean a bunch of women in their 40's and a couple of blokes in touch with their feminine sides!!) and we watched the show before invading the local and regardless of who they normally like/vote for we unanimously agreed that Matt was the stand-out for us.
Quite a few of my mates were staunch Rebecca fans but after tonight it's all change
I was worried how he might make this song his own, but as usual I needn't have fretted, his combination of growly and soft vocals just made this, in my opinion his best performance yet

Knew Simon would heap some bad comments on Matt tonite after the headlines in the tabloids this week....whether they were true or false doesnt matter...they were out there! still he could only pick on the vest lol...thought Matt looked very uncomfortable to when SC was speaking...no worries as if the show isnt a fix he will easily make the final.

Couldn't sleep so making a cuppa and then go back to bed.

On MF they reckon one of Big 4 could be in Bottom 4 - hmm very possible.

I t was an odd night, well it wasn't a great night. I am sure when Cowell gets home and watches it back, he'll hear how poor the standard was.

I am rather concerned that it's not a double eviction tomorrow. With 2 more rounds and Final in 3 weeks they need to get 8 down to 3 - well if they are following the normal pattern. Clearly, Wagner is not in Bottom 3 of voting and someone else they want to protect could be. I hope they aren't going to have a bottom 3 in the Semi, effectively judges decide who gets into the Final with a sing off for 4th place.

It is interesting to read our different reactions to Matts vocal - I'm on Team Not Keen for last night and really hated the fact that the bloomin vest top got more comment than his vocals from the judges.

I was stunned how off Rebecca was - what did she say about walking and singing - it made her nervous?!! If Matt had been given Yesterday he'd have made a good job, but I understand this week required a different approach.

I think Matt has paid his dues the last 2 weeks, 2 not overly fab song choices, he did his best - hope he stays tonight. I will say he looked very at ease last night, best yet - no flakey start re the jitters - just the growly vocal was a bit of a shock.

I want him to sing James Morrison next week - something souldful with nice melody and lyrics. Please god it's Movie week or Love songs and not another narrow theme.

Yay! Now I *know* its Sunday That was a pretty pathetic effort though. As one of the commenters pointed out how is 'knowing someone from nights out' being his pal? Plus Laurens kiss and tell made it plain she fancied him rotten since she was 15 and dumped this bloke in 3 days or something equally remarkable. They're reaching. I really don't get why people on MF think Matt is arrogant??? He is such a honey, what a sweet guy. I love the bit where he says he's not long been to the loo!

I think thats the reaction theyre going to get and I doubt its accidental - the going after her granny thing should seal the deal and she'll be safe for another week thus saving SCs face. Emmet Scanlan - who's a Hollyoaks actor I surmise from his other tweets - tweeted 'Matt's a f*cking legend on X Factor'. I may start watching him just because he has such fantastic taste.
