[Qoute by Brian Friedman in The Sunday Express

a cut in The X Factor’s budget mid-season means Brian is facing one less day in the studio to rehearse.

“The rationale is that there are fewer contestants but the expectations are higher
Twice confused,

1)why the necessity to cut costs, are they getting less revenue from phone voting

If so this would go some way in explaining why they are upping all the controversy surrounding some of the contestants, as it seems a lot of people will be giving extra sympathy votes. A poster on a different thread said she gave the Weasle two extra votes because of the Xtra Factor callers comments so it does seem to be working.

2) I haven't noticed fewer contestants, indeed we should have had more double illiminations by now so that means we have more of them surely

Seems very strange comments, my oppinion only though.

Interesting - presumably the only reason there would be budget cuts is if the voting figures were down, which is suprising given viewing figures are up - no wonder Simon has been on about people voting since early in the series - perhaps the great British public are finally getting wise to him

I think you hit the nail on the head! I for one have def gotten wise to Cowel this season... it's all such a fixed joke ... as long as they have their pay packet they don't really care about the contestants at all it's literally all about the judges... i certainly haven't voted this year. I think it's the weakest year for contestants - hope they keep Wagner in - if only to spite Cowel this year

Budget Cuts - Get rid of Brian Freedman and his dancers, dont think we would miss them. It would be all about the act then.
