It is a democratic vote.

I would like to see much more of this direct democracy (as long as the cost of the telephone calls are not too much ).”

Why is it that the ones intent on not taking the competition seriously are always the ones who talk about Strictly like it's as serious as a general election

I hate programs that give stupid time limits for things like Archaeology. Who cares if it takes weeks the show only needs to give a 'potted history'.

Strictly Come Dancing is an entertainment series using telephone votes so that the viewers can decide who stays and who leaves the programme each Saturday night.

The decision has been made by viewers to keep Ann Widdecombe and others as participants.

I do not know why some people in this thread are complaining about this. The telephone poll on Strictly Come Dancing is a democratic vote.

Well not exactly democracy - more vote early and often.

The way that rumba was treated was not right and not honourable.

You're right, it is a democracy but it is being abused by morons for 'a laugh'. It is not the same as the democracy we live in because as we all know, in general elections you can't vote multiple times can you? Though I'm sure if you could there would be a faction of the country that would band together to multi-vote the monster raving looney party in or the BNP or anyone else that would turn the institution into a joke because it's just sooooo funny right? Abusing democracy is a laugh.a.minute

I am giving you one last chance to avoid being the subject of a complaint to the moderator - please withdraw the claim above.

I post to this forum as Terry Telly and under no other name.

I came across a posting (in a thread to this section of the forum) from TerryM22 for the first time this afternoon and was actually surprised to find another poster with a similar forum name.

TerryM22 seems to agree with me about Ann Widdecombe being in Strictly Come Dancing and I welcome that - just as I am glad when other posters agree with me.

Could you please withdraw your claim in the quote above?

I read it as only morons multi vote for Ann Widdecombe.

The words "cap" and "fits" are coming to mind.

No can do. I've already reported you.

Do you not think that people voting for Ann Widdecombe and (her dance partner) Anton Du Beke (in Strictly Come Dancing) are doing so for positive reasons? I do.

Despite your attitude to me in this thread I gave you the chance to withdraw a comment from you which is not true. You have refused to do.

You now have to back up your outrageous accusation that I am posting under more than one name to this forum - which I am not.

You are also in breach of forum rules by being rude to me.

I am complaining to the moderator immediately about some of your postings to this thread and about at least one to one other in which you have also been rude to me.

You cannot complain about me on either of the above - for I have not accused you of posting under more than one name and neither have I been rude to you.

No, I don't. She doesn't do anything on this show expect make a mockery of it. What's positive about keeping her on the show? She's ruining it and turning it into just another I'm a Celebrity/BB/X Factor where before it was interesting, watching someone learn a skill, see them try, see them improve, see how far someone can push themselves. She's just there to be silly and pitiful and the people voting for her are doing it for a laugh.

If it's not true why does it bother you? It wouldn't bother me if it wasn't true. The mods can quite easily check it so if it's not the truth it should be water off a duck's back. Keep in mind that the more Tom Cruise sues newspapers who claim he is gay, the more people think he actually is gay.

How do you know the reasons why a huge number of people are voting for two particular contestants? Do you not think that perhaps there are differing reasons why some people vote for participants in the programme?

I didn't say they weren't But I'm sorry, if people are allowed to express what they think and vote for who they want then am I not allowed to express my confusion at their choice? I can't help thinking that it's stupid and I should be allowed to express my opinion just as they can express their's.

The people who have left recently had good fanbases (or they would not have got this far) and those fans can now transfer their votes. Anne may get to the final, but she will not win.

Perhaps there are. All I know is that people are voting for someone who can't dance, and doesn't attempt to dance, on a dancing show. If that's not silly, I don't know what is

A good friend of mine got a permanent ban for expressing an opinion over the reasons why people might have been voting for John Sergeant. At the time, John was a forum favourite. One must be careful of expressing unpopular opinions on this forum.

Don't take it out on me! I was just trying to bring a bit of common sense into this childish hysteria. Obviously, common sense does not prevail.

You can express any open you like but you are wasting your time. People on here pretend its about dancing but then vote for Gavin or Scott saturday night. Are they morons? What we have here is people getting deadly serious about a pantomime show. Who cares who wins I nodded off after the Titanic Sat. Least AW cheers me up the rest are really boring.
