Not a fan of Cher. Admittedly she is marketable and "current" if you like that sort of stuff.

Nevertheless, the general concensus is she's generally popular.

So what happened to her fan base ? Complacent ? The performance didn't help but that shouldn't have stopped them from voting.

Her absolutely appalling performance of one of the worlds most iconic songs?

I was out all weekend

Don't worry, next week we'll be back until she's in the final

It was a poor performance and her song was not something her audience would be familiar with

She was awful last night. Why vote for that? A waste of 35p. Her fans might be daft but they are not stupid.

The tweenies are only allowed to sneak votes when they're parents are out. Guess they had to cut their losses to save katie.

Maybe they finally turned up the volume and listened to her *singing* . They can't all be tone-deaf fools.

Yes - despite the hype there is little or no fanbase.

Mary probably has a far bigger fanbase in the viewing public - they just don't post on facebook and twitter all day,

I think maybe a few switched their support to Katie - I know a few who did, partly because Katie was so good this week, and partly because they assumed Cher would be safe.

She never had one, well not a big one at least
it's just a myth sold to us by the judges

and remember Shane Ward is a big star

Imagine is probably one of the most known songs of all time.

Just recently acts like Lady Gaga and Madonna have performed it.

Quite insulting to suggest that because people like Cher, and presumably Rnb/hip-hop type music, they would be unaware of a track such as Imagine.

If anything the fact she was singing such an iconic song, it should've appealled to more people than perhaps No Diggity which although still popular, is slightly more obscure than Imagine.

I think it's more a case of the fanbase just isn't as big as people think it is.

8 weeks is probably the average lifespan for an artist to stay 'current' these days. I think people are bored of her.

I reckon a couple of them did a quick google search on "rap" and realized it existed long before she was on the show and it isn't her invention like they thought it was?

She hasnt got one.

Its been more apparent week by week that she really wasnt very good, at singing, or at rapping.

Last night was simply the culmination of that process, she was not good, but more than being off key, her voice just isnt pleasant to listen to, hense being bottom two.

Best way to get @ Cheryl for her comments against Wagner was to boycott voting for her mini-me
